The Romain Jerome Titanic-DNA T-OXY III is not one single specification: the 46 mm T.OXY3.BBBB.00 is time-only, while the 50 mm CH.T.OXY3.11BB.00 adds a chronograph and date. GPHG also catalogs a 46 mm tourbillon. Identify the reference before comparing size, functions or prices; the available catalog and auction records do not establish the condition or current value of any particular watch.
Which T-OXY III is this?
The reference number matters because the T-OXY III name covers watches with different movements, complications and case dimensions. GPHG catalogs the following three variants:
| Reference | Cataloged version | Case and functions | Other listed details | Historical catalog price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| T.OXY3.BBBB.00 | Time-only | 46 mm; no chronograph function listed | Steel and titanium case; leather strap and folding buckle; 50 m water resistance; launch listed as 2008 | 11,900 CHF excluding VAT |
| CH.T.OXY3.11BB.00 | Chronograph | 50 mm, or 53 mm including the screw-in crown; date and chronograph | Steel and titanium case; leather strap and folding buckle; 50 m water resistance; launch listed as 2008 | 19,500 CHF excluding VAT |
| TO.T.OXY3.BBBB.00 | Tourbillon | 46 mm; tourbillon and power-reserve indicator | Steel and titanium case; leather strap and folding buckle; 50 m water resistance | 139,000 CHF excluding VAT |
These are historical figures in GPHG catalog entries, not current resale prices. The first two records place the watches in a Titanic-DNA collection described as limited to 2,012 pieces. See the time-only T.OXY III, chronograph and tourbillon entries for their catalog descriptions.
How the time-only and chronograph differ
T.OXY3.BBBB.00: the 46 mm time-only model
The reference T.OXY3.BBBB.00 is the 46 mm version without a chronograph listed. GPHG gives it a steel-and-titanium case, leather strap with folding buckle and 50 m water resistance. Its launch is listed as 2008, with an historical catalog price of 11,900 CHF excluding VAT.

CH.T.OXY3.11BB.00: the larger chronograph
The CH.T.OXY3.11BB.00 is a 50 mm chronograph with date. GPHG specifies 53 mm when measured including the screw-in crown, so the two measurements should not be treated as conflicting case diameters. It shares the listed case materials, strap and 50 m water resistance with the time-only version. Its historical catalog price was 19,500 CHF excluding VAT.
TO.T.OXY3.BBBB.00: the tourbillon
GPHG lists the tourbillon at 46 mm, with a power-reserve indicator, steel-and-titanium case, leather strap and folding buckle, and 50 m water resistance. The catalog price is 139,000 CHF excluding VAT. This is a distinct complication and reference, not a specification of the time-only model.

What is distinctive about the Titanic-DNA design?
The collection’s identity centers on a rusted-looking bezel and a dark dial, with a Titanic connection presented by the brand in its catalog descriptions. GPHG describes the bezel as a fusion of steel from the Titanic wreck and the Harland & Wolff shipyard in Belfast. For the dial, its time-only entry attributes the black color to coal recovered from the Titanic; its chronograph entry describes charcoal dust being vaporized to produce tones and layered finishes.
Those are catalog claims about the collection’s materials and design. They do not independently authenticate the provenance or composition of the bezel or dial on an individual watch. A listing’s story should therefore be considered separately from evidence about the specific example being offered.

What does the available price evidence say?
GPHG’s CHF figures are historical catalog prices, not estimates of what a pre-owned T-OXY III should cost today. Sotheby’s recorded an auction for a circa-2007 T.OXY3.BBBB.00 that closed on March 28, 2024, with an estimate of 5,000–7,000 EUR. That estimate is one historical auction reference; it does not establish a realized sale price or a current market value. The Sotheby’s lot record identifies the watch as the time-only reference.
To assess a specific asking price, first establish the exact reference and complication, then compare like with like. The catalog and auction records cited here do not establish the price fairness of a current listing.

What to verify before buying a specific example
No particular specimen, seller or listing is identified here, so its condition, originality, authenticity, service history, timekeeping and comfort cannot be evaluated. For an individual watch, request information and documentation tied to that exact example:

- Reference and identity: confirm the reference on the watch and accompanying paperwork; ensure the case size and complications match the corresponding catalog variant.
- Condition: inspect clear photographs of the case, bezel, dial, crystal, crown, strap and clasp. The distinctive aged or rusted appearance is part of the design, but photographs alone do not prove the condition or originality of a particular component.
- Documentation and service: ask for available purchase records, service invoices and any authenticity documentation. Do not assume service history or originality from the model name alone.
- Price basis: distinguish an original catalog price, an auction estimate, an auction result and a seller’s current asking price. They are different kinds of evidence.
