What does UTD stand for?
UTD means “UltraHex™ Titanium Digital,” RZE’s name for this digital watch line. The UTD-8000 pairs a coated titanium case and sapphire crystal with a custom digital module. RZE says it developed the module to prioritize resistance to shock and vibration; its broader claims about ruggedness are manufacturer claims, not independently documented test results in the cited coverage.

RZE distinguishes the 41 mm bezel measurement from the 42 mm case measurement. Some 2025 launch coverage gave a 50.2 mm lug-to-lug figure; the current manufacturer specification is 49.5 mm. For fit decisions, the current RZE measurement is the more direct reference, while wrist shape and strap choice also affect how a watch wears.
What functions does the module include?
The module provides 12- or 24-hour time, a stopwatch measuring to 1/100 second, a multi-function alarm, an hourly chime, a full auto-calendar through 2099 and an LED backlight. RZE lists a maximum drift rating of ±45 seconds per month, depending on temperature. The company separately reports that modules remained within ±15 seconds after a month of extensive testing through extreme temperature changes; that is RZE’s own reported observation, not an independent test result.

Does the UTD-8000 have a countdown timer or world time?
No. RZE says the module has neither a countdown timer nor world time. The date is fixed to month-day order, and the alarm does not include snooze. Those omissions matter if you rely on a digital watch for timed intervals, travel across time zones or a snooze function.
How rugged is the RZE UTD-8000?
RZE says the watch was designed and tested in the Canadian North and describes resistance to water, dust, corrosion, scratches, shock, vibration and extreme temperatures as design goals and capabilities. The cited product and launch coverage does not provide a quantified shock rating, temperature limits or a test protocol that would let readers compare those claims directly with another watch’s independently documented protection. The 200 m / 20 ATM water-resistance rating is the manufacturer’s stated specification; it should not be treated as evidence of a particular shock or temperature rating.

How much does the RZE UTD-8000 cost?
On its product page accessed in 2026, RZE listed standard UTD-8000 models at $279 and Cerakote special versions at $379. These are current listed prices in the cited source, not a guarantee of stock or the total price in every region; check RZE’s listing for the variant and checkout total available to you.
For context, the 2025 launch coverage reported an initial launch price of $169 on strap and $329 for a bracelet-and-strap configuration, followed by preorder prices of $199 and later stated MSRP of $219 on strap or $369 with bracelet. Those are historical launch figures, not today’s prices.

Strap, bracelet and fit
RZE says the watch ships with an elasticized fabric strap; its titanium bracelet is an add-on. The 20 mm lug width describes the space between the lugs, but it does not by itself establish that every 20 mm strap will fit or sit well. RZE says the UTD-8000 shares end links with its Endeavour and Resolute bracelets. Confirm the bracelet version and finish before ordering, since finish matching depends on the version.

RZE’s stated general watch warranty covers material or workmanship defects under normal and reasonable use for two years. The company says the custom UTD module is guaranteed for life against defects and failure. Its exclusions include battery changes, cosmetic wear, unauthorized work and damage outside normal or reasonable use. Review RZE’s current product and warranty wording before purchase, as the policy is the manufacturer’s terms.

The specified replacement battery is a CR2032 coin cell, and RZE rates its life at more than three years. RZE specifically excludes battery changes from the module guarantee; the battery-life figure is a rating, not a promise that every battery will last the same period.
