Verdict: The Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro can still make sense at a substantial discount, especially for Galaxy owners who want compact earbuds with strong noise cancellation. RTINGS describes their sound as warm and bass-heavy and their isolation as strong, but also finds short continuous battery life and weak microphone performance in noisy surroundings.
Samsung-specific audio enhancements are not universal Bluetooth features, and RTINGS says the Buds2 Pro have been replaced by newer Samsung earbuds. Compare their fit, battery life, call quality and price with newer options before buying.

Design and comfort: the tiny package is the point
Samsung described the Buds2 Pro as 15% smaller than the previous model; that is a manufacturer comparison, not an independent size measurement. RTINGS says the fit is stable with moderate head movement, while noting that fit and seal affect consistency. Comfort remains personal, so try the supplied ear tips and check the seal before judging the fit or noise cancellation.
Fit and case design may appeal to buyers who prefer the Buds2 Pro over newer Samsung earbuds. The available research does not establish universal comfort, so treat comfort claims as individual rather than guaranteed.

Sound quality: warm, energetic and easy to enjoy
RTINGS characterizes the sound as warm and bass-heavy. That presentation may suit listeners who enjoy bass-forward everyday listening, but it will not be the right choice for everyone. Listeners seeking a flatter sound should compare the available EQ controls and independent reviews before buying.
What Samsung’s 24-bit audio claim really means
Samsung advertises 24-bit audio support, but it is conditional. Samsung notes that support can depend on the application, and its Seamless Codec is an ecosystem feature. Compatible Samsung devices are needed to get the most from the earbuds, according to RTINGS.
Ordinary Bluetooth playback and Samsung-specific enhancements are different things. Do not assume that an iPhone, Windows PC or non-Samsung Android phone will provide the same Samsung audio features.
ANC is a key performance advantage
RTINGS describes the Buds2 Pro as having strong isolation and active noise cancellation. Samsung said ANC improved by 40% compared with the previous model; that is Samsung’s 2022 manufacturer claim, not an independent comparative measurement.

Battery life: check the ANC figure, not just the headline
Samsung lists up to 5 hours of playback with ANC on and up to 18 hours in the case. These are manufacturer figures based on specified test conditions: Samsung notes that testing used pre-production units paired with a recently released Galaxy smartphone, and that actual battery life may vary with usage, settings, charge cycles, Bluetooth signal and other factors.
RTINGS independently characterizes continuous battery life as short. The dossier does not provide a specific independent runtime measurement, so do not treat a more precise figure as established here.
| Use case | What to consider |
|---|---|
| Commuting and shorter listening sessions | The Samsung case reserve may help, but actual runtime varies with use and settings. |
| Continuous listening with ANC | Samsung lists up to 5 hours under its test conditions; RTINGS describes continuous battery life as short. |
| Long sessions or travel | Compare current alternatives for independently tested battery life before buying. |
The dossier does not verify charging accessories or their current availability. Check Samsung’s regional product information for charging compatibility before purchasing an accessory.
Water resistance and everyday durability
The research dossier does not verify a water-resistance rating or specific care instructions. Check Samsung’s product information for the rating applicable to your region and remember that an earbud rating should not be assumed to apply to its charging case.
Compatibility: best with Samsung features, ordinary Bluetooth elsewhere
The Buds2 Pro provide ordinary Bluetooth playback, while Samsung-specific enhancements depend on compatible Galaxy devices and software. RTINGS says compatible Samsung devices are needed to get the most from them. The dossier does not establish a full feature-by-feature compatibility matrix for other platforms.
Samsung’s Seamless Codec is proprietary. Do not treat it as a general Bluetooth feature or assume that every phone will support Samsung’s enhanced audio experience. Check the feature requirements for your device and apps.

Calls and microphones
RTINGS reports sub-par microphone performance, especially in noisy surroundings. If call clarity in traffic, wind or other noisy places matters to you, compare microphone tests of newer earbuds before buying rather than relying on a feature list.
Software, controls and updates
Samsung-specific features depend on compatible hardware and software, and 24-bit audio support can also depend on the application. The research dossier does not establish current firmware-update availability or a complete list of app controls, so check Samsung’s support guidance for your device and region.
How the Buds2 Pro compare with newer Galaxy earbuds
Galaxy Buds3 Pro
RTINGS identifies the Buds3 Pro as a successor and says they offer better battery life and noise cancelling. The Buds2 Pro may still appeal to buyers who prefer their fit or case design, but compare current prices and seller terms before choosing the older model.
Other newer Galaxy earbuds
RTINGS says the Buds2 Pro have been replaced by newer Samsung earbuds. The dossier does not provide verified comparisons for every current model, so compare ANC, per-charge battery life, microphone performance, fit and compatibility for the specific models you are considering.
