Choose the Galaxy Watch9 by separating two decisions: case size and connectivity. The 40mm model is the more compact, lighter option; the 44mm has a larger face. Bluetooth suits use when your phone is nearby, while LTE is worth considering if you want cellular connectivity away from it. No single size is right for every wrist, and LTE’s value depends on local carrier support and plan costs.
Galaxy Watch9 configurations at a glance
Samsung’s Singapore product page lists the standard Galaxy Watch9 in 40mm and 44mm sizes, each with Bluetooth or LTE connectivity. These are separate choices: first decide which case feels and looks right, then decide whether cellular connectivity is useful for how you use your watch.

| Configuration | What it means | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| 40mm Bluetooth | Smaller case; Bluetooth connectivity | A compact watch for use with your phone nearby |
| 40mm LTE | Smaller case; LTE connectivity | A compact watch when you want cellular connectivity away from your phone |
| 44mm Bluetooth | Larger case; Bluetooth connectivity | A larger face for phone-nearby use |
| 44mm LTE | Larger case; LTE connectivity | A larger face and cellular connectivity away from your phone |
Samsung lists weights of 31.5g for the 40mm and 34g for the 44mm on its Singapore product page. Those figures support the 40mm as the lighter choice, but comfort also depends on your wrist, band, and preference for a larger watch face. Samsung does not publish a universal wrist-measurement cutoff for choosing between the sizes. If possible, try each case on and check the band sizing before buying. Samsung Galaxy Watch9 product page

Should you choose 40mm or 44mm?
Choose 40mm for a more compact, lighter watch
The 40mm case weighs 31.5g according to Samsung Singapore. It is the straightforward starting point if you prefer a smaller-looking watch or want to minimize case weight. That does not guarantee a better fit: wrist shape and band adjustment matter, so try it on if you can.

Choose 44mm for the larger face
The 44mm case weighs 34g on Samsung’s Singapore page and gives you the larger of the two case sizes. Choose it if you prefer a bigger watch face; there is no official wrist-size rule that says who should or should not wear it.
Is Galaxy Watch9 LTE worth it?
Samsung offers both Bluetooth and LTE versions. Consider LTE if you want cellular connectivity when your phone is not with you. Before choosing it, check whether your carrier supports the watch in your country and what service or plan costs apply. The Samsung product information cited here does not establish local carrier support, plan prices, or terms, so confirm those details with your carrier before paying extra for LTE.

If you generally use the watch with your phone nearby and do not need cellular connectivity away from it, Bluetooth is the simpler match. Your choice should reflect how often you expect to leave your phone behind, not a presumption that LTE is necessary for everyone.

Samsung says the Galaxy Watch9 40mm has a battery that is 20% larger than the Galaxy Watch8 40mm battery. This is a comparison of battery size between those two specific models; it does not establish 20% longer battery life, and it should not be applied to every Watch9 size or configuration. Which Galaxy Watch9 should you buy?
- Pick 40mm Bluetooth if you want the more compact, lighter option and expect to use the watch with your phone nearby.
- Pick 44mm Bluetooth if you prefer the larger face and do not need cellular connectivity away from your phone.
- Pick 40mm LTE if you want the compact case and expect to use cellular connectivity without your phone nearby, subject to local carrier support and plan cost.
- Pick 44mm LTE if you want both the larger face and cellular connectivity away from your phone, again after checking local carrier terms.
Colors and availability are market-specific. Samsung Singapore lists Cream and Graphite for the 40mm and Graphite and Silver for the 44mm; check the product selection in your country rather than assuming those finishes are available everywhere.
