Samsung One UI 6 Watch Beta 1: What Happened, Supported Watches, and Galaxy AI Features

Samsung One UI 6 Watch Beta 1 launched through Samsung Members in June 2024 for selected Galaxy Watch owners. Here is what it included, which watches qualified, and how to check for the current stable update.

Samsung One UI 6 Watch Beta 1 is not a current public download. Samsung announced the beta on May 29, 2024, and opened the first U.S. wave through Samsung Members on June 12, 2024. It was a limited preview—not an unrestricted firmware file—and enrollment was limited by country, watch model, phone compatibility, and rollout availability.

For readers checking this in 2026, the relevant question is no longer how to download Beta 1. The stable One UI 6 Watch rollout began on November 19, 2024, and later watch software has superseded it. Check the Galaxy Wearable app or Samsung’s support page for the firmware currently offered for your exact watch and region.

What One UI 6 Watch Beta 1 actually was

One UI 6 Watch was Samsung’s Wear OS-based software update focused on health insights, exercise tracking, sleep analysis, and new watch controls. Samsung presented it as the wearable extension of its Galaxy AI strategy, combining AI processing with Samsung Health rather than adding a general-purpose chatbot to the watch.

The original headline that One UI 6 Watch Beta 1 was “available for download” needs an important qualification: Samsung did not publish it as a normal public download. Eligible owners had to register through the Samsung Members app, and the beta was distributed through the program’s software-update flow.

The first beta wave was announced for the United States and South Korea. Availability could differ by model, carrier, market, paired phone, and rollout wave. It should not be treated as a worldwide open beta.

Which Galaxy Watches were eligible?

Samsung’s official eligibility note named these watch families:

Contemporary reporting on the first U.S. wave focused specifically on Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic owners. Bluetooth versions appeared to be admitted before some LTE versions, but that was a report about the early rollout—not proof that every LTE model was categorically excluded. Samsung’s broader official language left availability dependent on the precise device and market.

Readers evaluating the hardware associated with the first beta wave can compare the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 as a compatible-generation device. The watch’s purchase price, however, never guaranteed access to Beta 1; the historical beta required Samsung Members enrollment while the program was open.

The same distinction applies to the Samsung Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Its rotating-bezel design made it one of the most recognizable models associated with the first wave, but buying one today does not reopen the 2024 beta.

Galaxy Watch6 and Watch6 Classic originally shipped with Wear OS Powered by Samsung, Wear OS 4, and One UI 5 Watch. That is why One UI 6 Watch represented a software-generation update rather than merely a new collection of watch faces.

How enrollment worked in 2024

The historical enrollment path was:

  1. Install or open Samsung Members on the paired Galaxy smartphone.
  2. Sign in with the Samsung account associated with the eligible device.
  3. Look for the One UI Beta announcement or registration card, where available.
  4. Register for the program and follow the beta software-update instructions.
  5. Use the Galaxy Wearable update flow to install the watch software after Samsung accepted the registration.

Samsung Members registration was not the same as downloading an APK or manually sideloading a public firmware package. If the program card did not appear, the likely explanations included an unsupported country, device, carrier variant, rollout wave, or a closed registration period.

There is no evidence that Beta 1 enrollment remains open in 2026. Do not use an unofficial firmware file or assume that a factory reset will make the beta available. A beta can also contain bugs, battery drain, incomplete translations, pairing problems, or features that change before stable release.

The main Galaxy AI and health features

Energy Score

Energy Score was the headline health feature. It reduced several recent measurements to a daily condition indicator intended to help users understand readiness and recovery at a glance.

  • TRACK HEALTH PATTERNS¹ IN YOUR SLEEP WITH VITALS²: Stay aware of the subtle changes in your body with Vitals¹–it tracks health metrics while you sleep, catches shifts from your usual patterns, and provides tailored guidance based on the insights.²
  • A PERSONALIZED COACH FOR YOUR FITNESS GOALS: Whether you're building endurance for a long trek or training to build muscle, Fitness Index³ delivers tailored guidance based on your fitness level goals. Finally, train smarter with your fitness watch.
  • EVERYDAY AI ASSISTANCE, SIMPLIFIED: With the Galaxy Watch9, you can just raise your wrist, start talking naturally and get instant AI assistance⁴—no wake phrase needed. This smart watch won’t slow you down.
  • ONE PERSONALIZED SCORE TO KNOW YOUR HEART BETTER: Instead of checking multiple metrics separately, track the single Heart Health Score⁵ based on sleep time, BMI, activity and vascular load to stay aware of your wellness.
  • TRACK YOUR NIGHTS. OWN YOUR DAYS: Galaxy Watch9 gives you personalized recommendations and habit-building guidance with Advanced Sleep Coaching.⁶ Plus, Bedtime Guidance⁷ helps you find your optimal bedtime so you can wake up feeling refreshed.

Samsung described the calculation as using:

  • Average sleep time
  • Sleep consistency
  • Consistency of bed and wake times
  • Sleep timing
  • Previous-day activity
  • Sleeping heart rate
  • Sleeping heart-rate variability, or HRV

The score is useful as a trend and motivation aid, not as a clinical measurement. It can change when the watch has incomplete data, an unusual night, inconsistent wear, or a different activity pattern.

Samsung’s stated prerequisites included Samsung Health, a Samsung account, Android 10 or later, a Galaxy Watch4 or newer device, and enough recent activity, sleep, and sleeping-heart-rate data for the calculation. The exact result also depends on data synchronization between the watch, phone, and Samsung Health.

Samsung expressly described Energy Score as a general wellness and fitness feature. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate, or prevent disease, and it should not replace medical advice or a clinical test.

Wellness Tips

Wellness Tips used a user’s goals and available health information to provide personalized guidance, encouragement, and recommendations. Examples could include suggestions related to activity, sleep habits, or maintaining a routine.

These recommendations are best understood as prompts for personal reference. “Personalized” does not mean medically individualized, and Galaxy AI outputs should not be treated as guaranteed accurate, complete, or reliable health advice. Anyone with symptoms or a diagnosed condition should use a qualified clinician—not a watch recommendation—as the basis for care.

More detailed sleep analysis

One UI 6 Watch introduced a more detailed sleep-analysis experience supported by an updated AI algorithm. Samsung’s later stable-release description identified additional sleep information such as:

  • Movement during sleep
  • Sleep latency—the time taken to fall asleep
  • Heart rate
  • Respiratory rate

These stable-release details should not automatically be read as a promise that every item appeared in every Beta 1 build. Samsung can add, remove, or limit features during testing, and supported features can vary by watch, phone, region, and software version.

Samsung also discussed wider availability of its FDA-authorized Sleep Apnea feature in the stable-release context. That feature should not be attributed to every One UI 6 Watch beta build unless a particular device’s beta changelog confirms it. It also does not turn the watch into a substitute for professional diagnosis.

Workout Routine

Workout Routine let users combine multiple exercises into a customized sequence. Instead of creating separate workouts manually, a user could build a planned series and move from one exercise to the next without stopping the overall routine.

This is most useful for circuit training, mixed gym sessions, and structured workouts that alternate between different exercise types. The precise exercise list and tracking behavior can depend on the watch’s supported Samsung Health activities.

Race

Race was designed to compare a current workout with a previous performance on the same route. Samsung limited it to outdoor running and outdoor cycling, making it a progress-comparison tool rather than a general race mode for every workout.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The comparison only makes sense when the routes are sufficiently comparable and begin from the same starting location. Samsung’s later stable documentation added that a route deviation of more than 10% automatically converts the activity to running mode. A changed start point, detour, GPS error, or substantially different route can therefore prevent a meaningful cycling or running comparison.

For cyclists, Samsung also documented personalized FTP calculation that requires a cycling power meter sold separately. A Bluetooth cycling power meter is an accessory for that measurement; it is not included with the watch, and compatibility should be checked before purchase.

Double Pinch and other gesture controls

Beta-era coverage highlighted new gesture controls, including a double-pinch interaction. Samsung’s later stable-release material described Double Pinch Gestures as a way to control a connected Galaxy smartphone from the wrist—for example, answering calls, dismissing alarms, taking photos, and performing other supported actions.

The stable implementation was off by default and required activation on the watch or in Galaxy Wearable. Samsung also required the watch to be paired with a Galaxy smartphone running One UI 6.1.1 or later. Those requirements describe the later stable feature and should not be presented as proof that every Beta 1 participant had the same controls.

Suggested replies and new watch faces

Samsung’s stable One UI 6 Watch materials also mentioned AI-powered Suggested replies for messages and new faces including Simple Digital and Ultra Info Board. Suggested replies depended on compatible Galaxy phone and Samsung account requirements.

Because these were described in the stable-rollout material, they should be separated from features confirmed in the first beta announcement. Beta software is not a fixed feature list, and a feature shown in the final release may not have been available in Beta 1.

Beta features versus the stable rollout

Samsung began the broader stable One UI 6 Watch rollout on November 19, 2024. The rollout started with the Galaxy Watch6 series and was scheduled to expand sequentially to:

  1. Galaxy Watch6
  2. Galaxy Watch6 Classic
  3. Galaxy Watch5
  4. Galaxy Watch5 Pro
  5. Galaxy Watch4
  6. Galaxy Watch4 Classic
  7. Galaxy Watch FE

That sequence did not mean every watch received every feature at the same time. Samsung cautioned that support could vary according to market, carrier, model, and paired smartphone. The Galaxy Watch FE was part of the later stable rollout context, but it was not part of the original official Beta 1 eligibility list quoted for the June 2024 program.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Stable software may also include fixes and features that were unavailable, experimental, or incomplete in Beta 1. Conversely, some beta features can be changed or withheld from older hardware because of performance, sensor, phone, or regional requirements.

How to check for the update now

As of August 12, 2026, a reader should check the current firmware offered for the specific watch rather than search for the old Beta 1 package:

  1. Pair the watch with the Galaxy smartphone in Galaxy Wearable.
  2. Open Watch settings.
  3. Choose Watch software update.
  4. Select Download and install, if an update is offered.

Keep the watch sufficiently charged, maintain the Bluetooth connection, and use a reliable Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection during the update. If no update appears, check the watch model, phone software, country, carrier variant, and Samsung’s device-specific support information. A missing update is not evidence that the historical beta can be installed manually.

What to do if a beta-era watch has problems

  • Update missing: Confirm the exact model and region, then check Galaxy Wearable rather than looking for an APK.
  • Health score unavailable: Wear the watch consistently for sleep and activity, synchronize Samsung Health, and confirm that a Samsung account is connected. Energy Score needs sufficient recent data.
  • Race comparison looks wrong: Check that the activity is outdoor running or cycling and that the route starts in the same place. A major deviation can invalidate the comparison.
  • Gestures do nothing: Verify that Double Pinch is enabled and that the watch is paired with a compatible Galaxy phone meeting Samsung’s later software requirement.
  • Battery or stability problems: Install the latest stable firmware offered for the device. Do not assume a beta build is the best version to keep in 2026.

Bottom line for Galaxy Watch owners

One UI 6 Watch Beta 1 was a June 2024 Samsung Members preview for selected Galaxy Watch owners in the United States and South Korea. Its important additions included Energy Score, Wellness Tips, more detailed sleep analysis, Workout Routine, Race, and gesture controls, with further features documented around the stable release.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It is not a current public download. Owners should use Galaxy Wearable to find the newest officially offered update for their model, while treating AI-generated health insights as general wellness guidance rather than diagnosis. The watch model, paired Galaxy phone, market, carrier, and software version all determine which features are actually available.

Frequently Asked Questions
