It launched at $59.99 with a 1.6-inch AMOLED display, long claimed battery life, sleep and activity tracking, and phone notifications.
It is best understood as an inexpensive Android companion band, not a miniature Galaxy Watch. The Fit3 has no onboard GPS, no Wear OS app ecosystem, and no iPhone support.
Why the U.S. launch was delayed
Samsung launched the Galaxy Fit3 internationally on February 23, 2024, but initially left the United States out. That was notable because Samsung had previously sold the Galaxy Fit2 in the U.S. The company had attributed the earlier omission to differences in regional market trends and needs, but did not provide a detailed public explanation for reversing that strategy.
The eventual U.S. release arrived on January 9, 2025. Samsung sold the band through Samsung.com, national retailers, and carriers in Gray, Silver, and Pink Gold.

The $59.99 figure was the U.S. launch MSRP. It should not be treated as a confirmed current retail price or stock status without checking a live product or retailer page.
At launch, Samsung also offered 50% off the Fit3 when it was purchased with a Galaxy A16 5G on Samsung.com. That was a launch promotion, not a standing offer.

The rectangular, rounded-corner design is more band-like than the circular Galaxy Watch. It has a touchscreen and one physical Home/Power button. Samsung says the display is 45% wider than the Fit2’s.
The headline battery figure is up to 13 days, not a guaranteed everyday result. Samsung’s maximum is based on defined usage assumptions. Frequent workouts, high brightness, numerous notifications, and heavier health monitoring can reduce endurance.

Health and fitness features
The Fit3 covers the fundamentals expected from a budget fitness band:
Rank #2
- Vibrant 1.6” AMOLED Display – Large, high-res screen with smooth touch for easy navigation
- 5ATM & IP68 Water Resistance – Swim-ready and dust-resistant for active lifestyles
- Up to 14 Days Battery Life – Powerful 208mAh battery for long-lasting performance
- 101+ Workout Modes with Auto Detection – Automatically tracks common workouts for seamless fitness tracking. Advanced Health Tracking – Includes sleep coaching, SpO2, heart rate, and snore detection
- International Model No Warranty in the US. ONLY compatible with Android devices. Samsung Pay - Not Supported. NOT compatible with iPhone or iOS devices.
- Step counting and daily activity tracking
- Heart-rate measurement, including high- and low-heart-rate alerts
- Stress measurement
- Blood-oxygen measurement
- Sleep tracking and Sleep Coaching
- Snoring-related detection
- Menstrual-cycle tracking
- Automatic workout detection
- More than 100 supported workout types
- Calories, active time, and related activity metrics
- Fall Detection and Emergency SOS functions
Automatic detection does not cover every workout type. For outdoor route tracking, the band uses the paired phone’s GPS. Its own sensors can still track movement, heart rate, and altitude-related activity, but the Fit3 cannot independently record a GPS route.
Sleep Coaching requires collected sleep data; Samsung documentation specifies at least seven days, including two days off. Snoring detection uses the paired phone’s microphone, so the phone needs to be close enough while you sleep.
These are wellness features, not medical diagnostics. Samsung says heart-rate, blood-oxygen, stress, and sleep results are not guaranteed to be accurate and should not replace professional medical advice or a medical device.
Samsung’s wellness and product documentation explains those limitations.
Phone controls and connected features
With a compatible phone, the Fit3 can show notifications and provide preset text-message replies. It also supports media controls, camera controls, Find My Phone, weather, calendar, timer, alarm, stopwatch, and calculator functions.

Fall Detection can offer the option to call emergency services through a nearby compatible phone. Emergency SOS can be triggered by pressing the side button five times. The band is not independently capable of making an emergency call if the phone is unavailable or out of range.
Compatibility and setup
The most important compatibility warning is simple: Samsung’s U.S. support documentation says the Galaxy Fit3 is Android-only. It does not pair with an iPhone.

Setup requires the Galaxy Wearable app and a compatible Android phone. Samsung’s documented process is:
- Press and hold the Fit3’s Power/Home button to turn it on.
- Accept the pairing prompt if it appears on the phone.
- If it does not appear, open Galaxy Wearable, tap Menu, then the plus sign.
- Select Galaxy Fit3.
- Confirm that the pairing number matches on the band and phone.
- Accept the terms and complete setup.
Samsung Health on the phone provides deeper activity and health analysis. Compatible phones, software requirements, and individual feature availability can vary by country, device, carrier, and software version. Some functions are specifically dependent on a paired Galaxy smartphone.
Consult Samsung’s compatibility and feature support page and its pairing instructions before buying for a particular Android phone.
What the Galaxy Fit3 cannot do
- No iPhone pairing: it is an Android-only device.
- No onboard GPS: runners and cyclists must carry the paired phone for route tracking.
- No Wear OS: it cannot install the broad range of third-party smartwatch apps available on a Galaxy Watch.
- No ECG or body-composition measurement: it lacks those Galaxy Watch health capabilities.
- No independent emergency calling: Fall Detection and SOS functions depend on a nearby compatible phone.
- No full typing: text responses are preset rather than fully custom messages typed on the band.
- Phone-dependent snoring detection: the paired phone’s microphone is required.
- No medical replacement: its health readings are for general wellness and trend tracking.
These limitations are not minor details. They define the product’s category: a simple connected fitness band rather than a standalone smartwatch.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Galaxy Fit3 versus Galaxy Watch
Choose the Fit3 if you want a lightweight band with long battery life, basic notifications, sleep tracking, and activity trends at a low launch price. It is also a better fit if you do not want smartwatch apps, cellular service, or frequent charging.
Choose a Galaxy Watch if you need built-in GPS, richer notifications and messaging, third-party apps, a circular watch design, more advanced sensors, voice features, or optional cellular connectivity. A Galaxy Watch is the more capable device, but it is also a different class of product.

Do not assume that the Fit3’s heart-rate or sleep results match a Galaxy Watch. Independent testing would be needed to establish comparative accuracy.

How it compares with other fitness bands
The Fitbit Charge 6 is a more feature-rich, established U.S. alternative, but it is generally positioned above the Fit3 and some advanced Fitbit insights are associated with Fitbit Premium.
Xiaomi Smart Band models often compete on price and battery life, although U.S. availability and official support can vary by model. Amazfit Band models offer another low-cost alternative through the Zepp ecosystem. Neither is as tightly integrated with Samsung Health and Samsung phone controls as the Fit3.
For existing Samsung band owners, the Galaxy Fit2 is the natural predecessor comparison. The Fit3 brings a larger display and newer hardware, but the right upgrade decision depends on the Fit2’s condition, current pricing, and the features you actually use.

Competitor prices and availability change, so the $59.99 figure should be understood as the Fit3’s verified U.S. launch price rather than a current market comparison.
Who should buy the Galaxy Fit3?
The Fit3 makes the most sense for:
- Samsung Galaxy-phone owners who want inexpensive activity and sleep tracking
- Users who prioritize battery life over apps and smartwatch features
- People who want basic notifications without wearing a full smartwatch
- Budget-conscious users who are willing to carry a phone for GPS and safety functions
- Anyone comfortable treating health readings as general wellness estimates
It is a poor match for iPhone owners, serious runners who do not want to carry a phone, users seeking ECG or body-composition analysis, and anyone expecting cellular calling, voice assistants, third-party apps, or a full smartwatch experience.
Verdict
Samsung’s U.S. arrival was significant because the Galaxy Fit3 launched internationally in February 2024 but did not reach American buyers until January 9, 2025. At its $59.99 launch price, it offered a compelling basic package: a bright 1.6-inch display, long claimed battery life, sleep and activity tracking, water resistance, and useful phone controls.
Its value depends on accepting the trade-offs. The Fit3 is Android-only, phone-dependent for GPS and emergency connectivity, and too limited to replace a Galaxy Watch. For a Galaxy-phone owner who wants simple wellness tracking and infrequent charging, it is a sensible budget band. For iPhone users, phone-free GPS training, or smartwatch apps, it is the wrong device.
