How the SSK001, SSK003 and SSK005 differ
Seiko’s 8 June 2022 launch announcement maps the three references to these color combinations. The “K1” references in the article title correspond to the named SSK models shown in Seiko’s product pages.

Those color distinctions come from Seiko’s launch announcement; the official product pages establish the references and shared specifications. No difference in the principal movement or case specifications is listed across the three cited pages.
How the Seiko 5 Sports GMT display works
Seiko describes the 24-hour hand as a dual-time display and pairs it with a rotating 24-hour bezel. Read the GMT hand against the bezel’s 24-hour scale to track a second time zone; the bezel can be rotated to align the scale with the time offset you want to follow. The two-color bezel is intended to distinguish day from night, according to Seiko’s launch announcement.

The watch also has a central seconds hand, date display and stop-second function, which stops the seconds hand while setting the time. It is a mechanical GMT display, not a statement that the watch independently adjusts itself to a new time zone.

These are manufacturer-published figures, not measurements from an independent test. In particular, 10 bar is the stated water-resistance rating; it should not be read as a guarantee for every activity or condition.
What Seiko says about the design
Seiko says the case and dial draw inspiration from the SKX series. Its launch announcement describes the bracelet as a five-row design with polished middle rows. These are the manufacturer’s design descriptions, rather than independent assessments of fit, finish or comfort.

How accurate is the 4R34?
Seiko’s 4R34 instruction manual gives a factory-adjusted daily rate range of +45 to −35 seconds per day under the manual’s stated normal-temperature condition. That is a manual specification, not a measured result for an individual SSK001, SSK003 or SSK005.
The same manual cautions that the actual rate can vary with wearing time, temperature, arm movement and the watch’s winding state. A mechanical watch’s published range therefore should not be treated as a promise that a particular example will keep time at one fixed rate in everyday use.
Launch date, prices and availability
Seiko’s launch announcement is dated 8 June 2022 and said the watches would join the main 5 Sports collection, with availability at selected Seiko boutiques and retailers worldwide in July 2022. That is launch-era information, not confirmation of present stock.
