The SRPJ49 is the green-and-tan version, limited to 6,000 pieces and available from November 2022. The black-and-gray SRPJ75 followed in February 2023 as a 5,000-piece edition Seiko described as a colorway for overseas markets. Those are historical release details, not confirmation of present-day stock.

These figures identify the announced production limits, not how many watches remain unsold or are currently available. The most immediate way to tell the two apart is their palette: green and tan for SRPJ49, black and gray for SRPJ75. Seiko lists the pair and their release details on its official Super Cub special page.
Shared design: cues from the original Super Cub
Seiko says the watches evoke the first-generation Honda Super Cub, introduced in 1958. Its official description says, “This special limited-edition watch expresses the first-generation Super Cub’s design from 1958 in every detail.” The dial is designed to suggest a front view of the motorcycle: the indices represent the headlights and turn signals, while a wing mark appears on the crown. Seiko also identifies Super Cub and Honda marks on the strap and a marked case back.
Seiko states that cumulative production of the Super Cub series exceeded 100 million units in 2017. That is the company’s historical figure for the motorcycle series, not a count of either watch edition. A later collaboration is distinct: Seiko’s 2023 55th-anniversary release was reference SRPK37, limited to 7,500 pieces and available from September 2023; it is not another name for SRPJ49 or SRPJ75.

Movement and specifications
Both references use Seiko’s 4R36 automatic caliber and share the listed dimensions and features. Seiko’s regional catalog gives the following specifications for the pair:

These are catalog specifications, not independent test results. Seiko’s regional 5 Sports catalog displays prices in a regional currency; those figures should not be treated as universal or current prices.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the SRPJ49 if you prefer its green-and-tan treatment or are looking for the earlier, 6,000-piece release.
- Choose the SRPJ75 if you prefer black and gray or want the later, 5,000-piece overseas-market colorway.
- For fit and everyday use, their listed dimensions, movement and feature set are the same, so the choice is principally about appearance, availability and the condition of a particular example.
The 22 mm lug width means a replacement strap with a nominal 22 mm fit may be a starting point, but check the strap’s actual fit and construction against the watch. A generic replacement strap should not be represented as carrying official Honda or Super Cub branding.

The announced release dates and limited counts do not establish whether either reference is currently available new, what a used example should cost, or whether a particular seller is authorized. Check live listings directly and assess the seller, condition, included box and papers, authenticity indicators, and return terms before buying. Independent launch coverage reported a US$400 price for the SRPJ49 and said SRPJ75 US pricing had not been announced at that time; those are historical launch-era notes, not current valuations.
