The 2026 Hermès H08 Squelette is the collection’s first skeletonised model: a 39 mm satin-brushed titanium watch with the openworked H1978S titanium calibre. Hermès lists it at $21,200 on its U.S. website; Fratello reports €20,000. Those are separate market prices, not a single worldwide price. The Squelette is distinct from conventional 42 mm H08 models, which use the H1837 movement and have different specifications and prices.
What is new about the H08 Squelette?
Hermès introduced the H08 as a sport-oriented watch line in 2021. Its 2026 Squelette brings an openworked movement to the collection, making the calibre part of the dial-side design rather than hiding it behind a conventional dial. Hermès describes a 39 mm satin-brushed titanium case and the H1978S skeletonised titanium calibre on its U.S. Watches and Wonders collection page.
Launch coverage describes two marker variants, blue and grey. T3 reports that the H1978S has 168 components and a 60-hour power reserve; Fratello also reports 26 jewels and a time-only display. Those movement and function details come from coverage rather than the official product description cited above.
How much is the new Hermès H08?
Prices depend on the model and market. Hermès’ U.S. page lists the H08 Squelette at $21,200, while Fratello’s April 14, 2026 hands-on reports €20,000. They are separate published prices for different markets and sources; neither should be treated as a currency conversion or a universal price.

What movement is in the Hermès H08?
The answer depends on which H08 you mean. The Squelette uses the H1978S skeletonised titanium calibre. Conventional H08 models use the H1837 automatic movement: for example, Hermès Greece specifies it in reference W402992WW00, with a date display and a 50-hour power reserve. Do not apply the conventional model’s movement or functions to the Squelette.

Is the H08 42 mm?
Conventional H08 models are commonly described as 42 mm, but the cited Hermès Greece listing for W402992WW00 specifies a 39 mm case width and 42 mm lug-to-lug. The Squelette is a different size: Hermès gives its case diameter as 39 mm, while Fratello reports a 42 mm lug-to-lug measurement. Diameter and lug-to-lug are different measurements, so a 42 mm length does not mean the Squelette has a 42 mm case.
How does the H08 wear?
Fratello’s Daan de Groot wrote after wearing a Squelette sample that the lightweight titanium and ceramic construction felt comfortable and the rubber straps were soft and supple. On his 17 cm (6.7-inch) wrist, however, he found the 39 mm watch felt somewhat large. That is one wearer’s impression, not a fit guarantee; wrist shape and personal preference matter as much as the stated diameter.

Fratello reports the Squelette’s case as Grade 5 titanium with black DLC coating and a ceramic bezel, and gives water resistance as 100 m. Hermès’ official page confirms the 39 mm satin-brushed titanium case but does not, in the cited product information, establish every specification reported by the article. Fratello’s article gives inconsistent thickness figures in its prose and specification block, so thickness is omitted here.

The Squelette sits alongside, rather than replaces, the conventional H08. Hermès’ 2025 annual report says the line had grown successfully since its 2021 launch. In December 2025, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry described new 42 mm titanium H08 models with light grained dials, H1837 automatic movements, 50-hour reserves and 10 ATM water resistance. The standard model was offered with a bracelet or rubber strap; a limited version had a grey dial, blue indices and black ceramic bezel.

Materials also vary across the family. The Greek-listed W402992WW00 pairs a black ceramic bezel and orange rubber strap with a case made from braided glass-fiber composite coated with aluminum and slate powder. It is not the titanium Squelette, and its €8,150 Greek listing should not be used as a proxy for Squelette pricing.
