It revives the look of Zenith’s 1971 A3817, combining design cues associated with the A384 and A386. Zenith’s US page listed it at $10,000 and its UK page at £8,700 on October 7, 2026; those are market-specific listings, not a worldwide price guarantee.
What makes the A3817 distinctive?
The A3817’s defining contrast is its case and dial: the sporty tonneau-shaped steel case associated with the A384 meets the white tri-colour dial associated with the A386. Zenith says the original arrived in 1971, at a time when its tonneau-case sport models and round-case models had otherwise formed separate design lines. The combination made the A3817 an unusual early El Primero reference.
For the revival, Zenith says it used historical blueprints and reverse-engineering to follow the original’s proportions and finishes. The modern watch is a remake, not one of the historical originals. Zenith states that 1,000 original A3817s were produced; that historical count does not establish how many revival watches have been made. Zenith’s May 18, 2021 history release calls the original “one of the most distinguished, elusive and sought-after references among the early El Primero watches”; “sought-after” is the manufacturer’s characterization.

These are manufacturer specifications from Zenith’s international product page and its 2021 press kit. Zenith describes the reserve as approximately 50 hours on the current product page; the press kit gives a minimum of 50 hours.
