The Seiko 5 Sports Kosuke Kawamura editions are two limited-run automatic watches announced in 2022: the standard SRPJ41 and the Seiko Boutique SRPJ43. They share the same 42.5 mm steel case, 4R36 movement, Hardlex crystal and 10-bar water resistance. The main differences are production quantity, original Japanese suggested retail price, distribution and the SRPJ43’s extra nylon strap. Seiko’s Japanese store now marks the SRPJ43JT listing as sales ended; that does not establish whether either watch is available from other sellers.
What is the Seiko SRPJ41?
The SRPJ41 is the international reference for a 2022 Seiko 5 Sports limited edition created with Japanese collage artist Kosuke Kawamura. Seiko described the concept as reconstructing its archive through collage; it is an artistic recombination of archival design elements, not a reproduction of one specific historical watch. Seiko announced the collaboration on August 25, 2022, and scheduled the watches for release on September 9, 2022. Seiko’s announcement identifies the standard model by the Japanese domestic code SBSA177, while SRPJ41 is the international reference used for the edition.
The Japanese announcement also identifies the Boutique edition as SRPJ43JT. International references commonly use SRPJ43. These regional code differences matter when comparing Japanese listings with international references.

Production quantities, Japanese prices, planned release date, shared case and crystal details, water resistance, and strap package are from Seiko’s 2022 announcement. Prices are historical Japanese suggested retail prices, not current market values. The SRPJ43JT was the Japan Boutique-distributed model and came with the additional nylon strap. What movement is in the Kosuke Kawamura Seiko 5 Sports?
Both editions use Seiko’s caliber 4R36, a mechanical automatic movement that can also be wound by hand. The official SRPJ43JT listing specifies a day-and-date display, stop-seconds function, 24 jewels and approximately 41 hours of power reserve. Its stated daily rate is +45 to −35 seconds; that is the specification shown on the official product listing, not a guarantee of an individual watch’s measured accuracy. Seiko’s SRPJ43JT listing also identifies the movement as automatic with manual winding.
How many SRPJ41 and SRPJ43 watches were made?
Seiko announced 3,000 SRPJ41/SBSA177 examples worldwide, including 200 for Japan. It announced 500 SRPJ43/SRPJ43JT examples worldwide, including 50 for Japan. These are the editions’ announced production quantities, not figures for how many remain unsold or are currently available.

Is the Seiko SRPJ43 still available?
Seiko’s Japanese online store marks the SRPJ43JT product listing as “販売終了” (sales ended). That describes the status of that official listing, not the entire market: it does not establish whether an individual retailer or resale marketplace has stock. Current inventory for either reference is not established here. Check the official listing for its displayed status.
When assessing a listing, confirm the exact reference and region, seller, condition and what is included. For an SRPJ43, check whether the additional nylon strap is present; for either edition, compare the serial and limited-edition markings with the seller’s description and photographs.

Shared specifications
Seiko gives both watches a stainless-steel case measuring 42.5 mm across and 13.4 mm thick, a Hardlex crystal and 10-bar water resistance. The SRPJ43JT listing adds a 46.0 mm case length, LumiBrite on the hands, indexes and bezel, an anti-magnetic specification, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and a see-through screw caseback with limited-edition marking and serial number. It also specifies a steel-and-glass caseback. These additional details are from the official SRPJ43JT listing and should not be treated as separately verified measurements of every individual watch.
