In June 2020, Seiko announced the first availability of its Lukia women’s watch line outside Asia, introducing six automatic references inspired by Ginza and Japanese color themes. The collection paired mother-of-pearl dials and diamond hour markers with the brand’s 6R35 automatic movement. The announcement documented a historical launch—not current stock or today’s prices.
What Seiko announced in 2020
Seiko Watch Corporation said Lukia, a line sold in Japan since 1995, would be available outside Asia for the first time. Its June 10, 2020 announcement introduced six automatic watches: SPB133, SPB135, SPB137, SPB138, SPB140 and limited-edition SPB141. Seiko described the designs as inspired by Ginza and Japanese colors. Seiko Watch Corporation’s June 2020 announcement is the primary source for the launch details.
The announcement characterized the dials as traditional Japanese colors applied over mother-of-pearl, with a flower motif and eight diamond hour markers. Seiko said the color was applied to both sides of the dial to blend with the mother-of-pearl texture. SPB141 also has 55 diamonds on its bezel.

All six references share the announced dial treatment and eight diamond hour markers. The gold-colored plating distinguishes SPB138 and SPB140 from the other standard cases; SPB141 is the sole limited edition and the only one with additional bezel diamonds. The prices above are Seiko’s original European recommended prices in 2020, not current retail or resale valuations.

Movement and specifications
Seiko specified its 6R35 automatic caliber, with 24 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a 70-hour power reserve. The common announced case thickness is 11.4 mm. The crystal is curved sapphire with anti-reflective coating, and a screwed, see-through sapphire caseback exposes the movement.
- Water resistance: 10 bar.
- Magnetic resistance: 4,800 A/m.
- Strap: interchangeable crocodile strap with a three-fold clasp and push-button release.
Seiko’s announcement does not state lug width, so it is not enough to establish which replacement strap will fit.

Release timing and what the prices mean
Seiko announced five models for July 2020 and SPB141 for September 2020, with availability planned at selected Seiko Boutiques. Those were launch plans, not confirmation of present availability. The official announcement establishes original specifications and recommended launch prices; it does not establish current inventory, resale value or the legitimacy of any marketplace listing. A buyer considering one today should verify the exact SPB reference, condition and seller independently.
