Seiko’s original Presage Sharp Edged Series date-display watches—SPB165, SPB167, SPB169 and SPB170—share a 39.3 mm case, automatic Caliber 6R35 and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. The main practical distinction is the finish and strap: SPB165, SPB167 and SPB169 pair super-hard-coated stainless steel cases with bracelets, while SPB170 has a rose-gold-color-plated stainless steel case and a leather strap.
What the four references have in common
Seiko announced the four watches on August 24, 2020, with availability beginning in September 2020 through Seiko Boutiques and selected retailers worldwide. These are manufacturer specifications in Seiko’s 2020 announcement, not independent measurements. The launch specifications are listed in Seiko’s announcement.

Seiko’s official English launch release calls the SPB170 strap a “Horse strap”; another official-language version describes it as leather. The safely supported description is leather strap, without a more specific leather type. Case and strap distinctions are from Seiko’s launch specifications. SPB165’s additional dimensions and accuracy specification appear on its official regional product page; that page specifies +25/-15 seconds per day for SPB165, not necessarily for the other references.
Dial design and Japanese color references
Seiko says the dials use a Japanese Asanoha, or hemp-leaf, pattern. Its geometric texture is intended to produce subtle color gradation as light changes. The description is Seiko’s account of the design, not an independent cultural analysis. Seiko’s Sharp Edged Series page
The 2020 announcement names four traditional Japanese color concepts: Shironeri (unbleached silky white), Aitetsu (indigo iron), Tokiwa (evergreen) and Susutake (smoked bamboo brown). The captured announcement does not reliably assign those names to individual reference numbers, so they should not be used as a model-by-model color key without checking the specific watch page.

At the time the global series page was captured, SPB165 and SPB169 were marked “Sold out”; SPB167 and SPB170 appeared without that label. Which dimensions can help assess fit?
All four references share the announced 39.3 mm diameter and 11.1 mm thickness. For SPB165 specifically, Seiko also lists a 47.2 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 20 mm distance between lugs. The latter is the relevant strap width for that reference. The cited material does not establish lug-to-lug or lug-width measurements for SPB167, SPB169 or SPB170, so do not assume SPB165’s extra measurements apply to all four.
SPB165’s official page also lists a weight of 155 g. That is a model-specific manufacturer specification; equivalent weights for the other references are not stated in the cited pages. SPB165 specifications

The available specifications support a comparison of the four original date-display models, but not independent accuracy, wear-comfort or comparative performance claims.
