What is the Seiko Presage SPB445J1?
The SPB445J1 is a stainless steel Seiko Presage Classic Series watch. Its defining feature is a white Hakuji Arita porcelain dial, finished with transparent glaze. The dial measures 31.6 mm across, with a patterned area inside the indexes and a recessed small subdial at six o’clock.

Seiko says the porcelain is shaped through handwork and fired at high temperature. The company describes its Arita producer as making porcelain since 1830. Seiko also names Arita porcelain craftsman Hiroyuki Hashiguchi and says he and colleagues have been developing dials with the Presage team.
What is distinctive about the Arita porcelain dial?
The dial’s porcelain surface is not intended to look perfectly uniform. Seiko cautions that handwork and high-temperature firing can leave small dimples, tiny dots or uneven color, and says no two genuine Arita porcelain dials are exactly alike. These variations are part of the material and process; a mark alone should not be assumed to indicate damage.
