What is the Seiko Presage SPB495?
Seiko presents the SPB495J1 as part of the Presage Classic Series, under its “Craftsmanship” Enamel Dial designation. The white enamel dial, black Roman numerals, blued hands and railroad-style minutes track are intended to recall Seiko’s 1895 Timekeeper pocket watch. Seiko attributes the enamel work to craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa. Seiko’s official US product page gives the model’s full specifications.

What to know about the enamel dial
Seiko says the genuine enamel dial is made by firing enamel at high temperature and that Yokosawa can apply an enamel coat just 0.1 mm thin. The company also warns that firing may produce small dimples, tiny dots or a rough surface. It describes these as possible features of genuine enamel and says each dial is unique; this is Seiko’s stated material caveat, not a claim that every dial will show visible variation.
