Seiko announced 3,500 pieces for January 2021 availability. Its substantial dimensions and listed 205 g weight make wrist fit an important consideration, while the £660 UK and €740 France prices shown on Seiko pages are regional reference points, not guaranteed current market prices.
What is the SRPH61K1?
The SRPH61K1 is Seiko’s Prospex Limited Edition “Shu-iro,” a Europe-exclusive release also sold in Israel, Turkey and South Africa according to Seiko’s January 2021 announcement. Seiko said it was inspired by the Suigun, historic Japanese waterborne forces; the vermilion Shu-iro dial color refers to lacquered armor. The angular case is nicknamed “King Samurai” by Seiko fans.
The edition was limited to 3,500 pieces. Seiko’s announcement described the name this way: “The shape of this limited edition is nicknamed by Seiko fans ‘King Samurai’ – because of its angular shaped design.”
How much does the Seiko SRPH61K1 cost?
Seiko’s UK product page lists the SRPH61 at £660.00, while the Seiko Boutique France page lists €740.00 and includes a three-year Seiko warranty. The French boutique page showed the product as unavailable when checked. These are regional price and availability snapshots; taxes, exchange rates, condition and seller status can change.

How does the watch wear?
The 43.8 mm diameter and 47.8 mm lug-to-lug measurement suggest a large watch, while its 205 g listed weight points to a notably substantial feel, especially on the steel bracelet. Diameter alone does not determine fit: wrist circumference, wrist shape and how far the lugs extend matter. If possible, compare the 47.8 mm lug-to-lug span with a watch that already fits you well.
The visual contrast is central to this edition: a vermilion dial, gold-tone accents and an angular case, with sword-hilt-inspired mesh detailing at the sides of the bezel. The included silicone strap offers another wearing configuration without changing the watch’s large case dimensions.

Is the King Samurai Shu-iro a good diver?
On paper, it has the core features expected of a capable recreational dive watch: 200 m diver’s water resistance, a unidirectional bezel, screw-down crown, luminous hands and indices, and a clasp extender. Those specifications describe the hardware; they are not a substitute for checking the watch’s condition, seals and water resistance before using a pre-owned example in water.
The main trade-off is size and mass. Someone who wants a compact or lightweight everyday diver may find the 43.8 mm case and 205 g listed weight imposing. Buyers drawn to the Samurai’s angular design, vivid dial and bracelet-plus-silicone-strap package may see those same traits as part of its appeal.

Where can you buy the SRPH61K1?
Seiko announced the Shu-iro for Europe, with additional sales in Israel, Turkey and South Africa. The edition was announced for January 2021 availability, so present-day stock should not be assumed from that launch information. Check Seiko’s regional product pages and established sellers for live availability, and compare the seller’s location, return terms, condition and warranty before purchasing. A watch-market listing may help with price context, but verify current figures directly rather than treating a reference price as a live offer.
