Its defining trade-offs are clear: the textured green dial gives it a distinctive look, while its 44.8 mm diameter and 15.7 mm thickness make it a substantial watch. The hands-on impressions below are Bert Buijsrogge’s, published by Fratello on September 16, 2020—not a claim of handling by this writer.
What the SNR045 is
Seiko identifies the SNR045J1 as a Prospex LX model and lists it as a limited edition of 500 pieces. The official Singapore product page is the source for the specifications below; its displayed price is regional, not a worldwide quote or confirmation of local stock. Seiko’s official SNR045J1 page

How it wears: a large, detailed case
At 44.8 mm across, 50.9 mm lug-to-lug and 15.7 mm thick, the SNR045 has dimensions worth considering before buying. In his September 2020 Fratello hands-on, Bert Buijsrogge describes it as larger than his preferred watches, but says it was an exception for his personal taste. That is one reviewer’s fit reaction, not a universal comfort verdict.
Buijsrogge also notes the contrast between polished and brushed case surfaces. Seiko’s official page identifies the case as titanium with a super-hard coating. Fratello’s specification table conflicts on this point, listing stainless steel; Seiko’s product page is the basis for the titanium identification here. The green dial and its design story
Buijsrogge describes the dial’s color and texture as inspired by Antarctic exploration and “kokebozu”—moss pillars at the bottom of a lake in Skarvsnes Foreland. This is the design account given in his review, rather than a specification on Seiko’s product page. The same article says the Prospex LX line was designed in collaboration with Ken Okuyama and relates the case design to Seiko’s historic 1968 diver.
The dial also carries a visible power-reserve indicator. Its presence is functional: Seiko specifies an approximately 72-hour reserve. Whether that indicator suits the dial is a matter of taste; Buijsrogge says it did not suit his preference.

Movement and diving capability
The 5R65 is a Spring Drive caliber, and Seiko states precision of ±15 seconds per month (±1 second per day) and approximately 72 hours of power reserve. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of this particular watch. The date and reserve indicator are the listed displays.
Seiko rates the watch to 300 m / 1000 ft for saturation diving and lists a unidirectional bezel, LumiBrite on the hands, indices and bezel, and a screw case back. The rating describes the model’s stated water-resistance category; it does not by itself establish suitability for every real-world diving setup.

Price, availability and strap fit
Seiko’s Singapore page currently displays SGD 8,859.60. That figure applies to that regional listing only, and the available information does not establish current inventory in other locations. Fratello recorded €6,100 in 2020; that dated figure should not be treated as a current price. With only 500 pieces listed, production is limited, so check with a local retailer for current availability and pricing.
The official lug distance is 22 mm, which gives strap shoppers a starting width. Width alone does not guarantee a suitable replacement: check the actual fit at the lugs, as well as clasp compatibility and the seller’s claims.

- HARDLEX CRYSTAL: Durable Hardlex crystal protects the dial, while LumiBrite on the hands, indexes, and bezel improves low-light visibility.
- DIVER-READY DESIGN: Unidirectional rotating bezel and three-fold clasp with secure lock, push-button release, and extender provide practical functionality.
Who should consider the SNR045?
- It may appeal if you want a Spring Drive diver with a distinctive green textured dial, titanium construction and a stated 300 m saturation-diving rating.
- Think carefully if you prefer slimmer or smaller watches, or want a cleaner dial without a visible power-reserve indicator.
- Before committing compare its dimensions with a watch that fits you, and verify regional price and availability rather than relying on an old review price or another market’s listing.
Buijsrogge’s verdict was personal and positive: “This diver is definitely one of them.” That enthusiasm sits alongside his reservations about the size and reserve indicator, making the review useful as an account of one wearer’s experience rather than a universal fit recommendation.
