What the Octo Roma Chronograph is
The title’s black-dial watch corresponds to Bulgari reference 103471. Bulgari describes its dial as black with a Clous de Paris pattern and its case as stainless steel with satin-brushed and polished surfaces. The manufacturer lists an automatic BVL399 movement, hours, minutes, central seconds, date and chronograph functions, and a 42-hour power reserve.
“Hands-on” should not be mistaken here for a personal wear review: the specifications below come from Bulgari’s product listing, not an independent assessment of fit, comfort, legibility on the wrist or timing performance.

How the black dial lays out the chronograph
Bulgari places the chronograph minutes at 9 o’clock and chronograph hours at 6. Running seconds sit at 3, while the date appears at 4:30. The hands and metallic indexes use Super-LumiNova, according to the manufacturer. These are listed features; they do not establish how easy the display is to read in particular lighting or during use.

Hodinkee’s March 29, 2023 launch coverage describes an updated Octo Roma collection that included black- and blue-dial chronographs, and identifies the chronograph as a first for the collection. The article reported the 42 mm case, BVL399 calibre and 42-hour reserve, with a launch-era price of €9,900. That launch context should not be read as evidence of a 2026 debut or as a current universal price. Hodinkee’s March 2023 report.

What to verify before buying
- Confirm the reference: 103471 is the black-dial model; 103829 is the blue-dial chronograph.
- Check the live local listing for price, taxes, availability and the supplied bracelet or strap.
- For the black model, Bulgari states 100 m water resistance. Do not assume that rating applies to the blue model based on the cited listing alone.
- Treat the stated 42-hour reserve and other specifications as manufacturer claims, not independent test results.
