The watch most likely meant by “Seiko Prospex Samurai Save the Ocean, Asia Special Edition” is the SRPF79, also listed as SRPF79K1. Seiko’s regional product pages call it the “Save the Ocean Special Edition”; an official retailer calls it the “King Samurai.” Those names and references point to the same core specification set, but “Asia Special Edition” is not the edition name used on the Seiko pages reviewed. Seiko’s UK product page is a useful reference for identifying it.
Which watch is the Asia Special Edition?
Use SRPF79 or SRPF79K1 when searching for this watch. Seiko identifies the model as SRPF79 on its regional pages, while variant references and retailer material use SRPF79K1. Seiko’s official wording is “Save the Ocean Special Edition,” and an official retailer refers to it as the “King Samurai.” The pages reviewed do not establish “Asia Special Edition” as Seiko’s formal edition name.

How the dimensions may wear
The 43.8 mm diameter and 48.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement are useful fit checks, especially if you usually wear smaller watches. The lug-to-lug figure describes the span from one end of the lugs to the other; compare it with a watch that already fits you well. At 12.8 mm thick, the case also has more height than a slim dress watch. These numbers cannot guarantee fit because wrist shape, strap adjustment and personal preference matter.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What strap fits the SRPF79K1?
Seiko lists a 22 mm distance between the lugs and supplies the watch with a silicone strap. A replacement strap should be sized for that lug width; confirm the replacement’s fitting and dimensions before ordering. A 22 mm width alone does not establish compatibility with every strap design or attachment system.

What to verify before buying
- Reference: Check that the listing identifies SRPF79 or SRPF79K1, rather than relying only on “King Samurai,” “Manta Ray,” or “Asia Special Edition” wording.
- Seller and variant: Confirm the seller, the exact watch variant and what is included. Regional stock and naming can vary.
