The Seiko Prospex SLA019 is a 2018 commemorative diver limited to 1,968 pieces. It pairs a 44.3 mm stainless-steel case and bracelet with a green zirconia ceramic bezel, automatic caliber 8L35, and a supplied silicone strap. Seiko rated it for 300 m saturation diving; the figures below are manufacturer specifications, not independent test results.
What is the Seiko Prospex SLA019?
Seiko introduced the SLA019 as the “1968 Automatic Diver’s Commemorative Limited Edition” on 22 March 2018. The company positioned it among Prospex watches honoring landmark Seiko divers and said production was limited to 1,968 pieces. The SLA019 is distinct from the contemporaneous SLA025 re-creation. In Seiko’s launch specifications, the SLA019 uses caliber 8L35 and a 44.3 mm case; the SLA025 uses caliber 8L55 and a 44.8 mm case. Seiko’s 2018 launch announcement

What to check when buying a pre-owned SLA019
Seiko’s launch release gave an approximate European recommended retail price of €3,200 in 2018. That is a historical launch price, not a current resale valuation. Current asking prices, availability, and the condition of individual watches are not established here, so assess the specific listing rather than inferring value from the limited-edition number.

- Identity and documentation: ask for the model and serial details, available paperwork, and service records. Verify that the details match the watch being offered.
- Condition: inspect the case, ceramic bezel, crystal, crown, bracelet, and clasp for damage or wear. Request clear photographs and an in-person inspection where possible.
- Completeness: confirm which bracelet links and accessories are included, and whether the original silicone strap, box, and papers are present. Do not assume every example or listing includes all of them.
- Function and service: ask whether the watch has been serviced and whether any timing or water-resistance checks were performed, when, and by whom. A 300 m rating is the manufacturer’s specification; it does not establish the current water resistance of a pre-owned example.
What strap fits the SLA019?
Seiko lists a 20 mm lug width, so a 20 mm strap is the appropriate starting size. The original package included a silicone strap as well as the steel bracelet. Before buying an aftermarket strap, check its width, spring bars, buckle dimensions, and fit on the actual watch; the lug-width figure alone does not establish compatibility with every strap or piece of hardware.
