The Seiko Prospex SPB411, also known as the SPB411J1, is a 4,000-piece limited-edition mechanical GMT released in 2023. It recreates the look of Seiko’s 1968 Navigator Timer and pairs an independently adjustable GMT hand with a rotating 24-hour bezel. That combination is designed to show up to three times at once; it does not automatically account for every time-zone or daylight-saving change.
What is the Seiko SPB411?
Seiko’s retail announcement identifies the watch as the Prospex Land Mechanical GMT Limited Edition and describes it as a recreation of the 1968 Navigator Timer. The SPB411 is the modern reference; “Navigator Timer” refers to its historical inspiration and common model identity. Seiko announced a November 2023 release and a production run of 4,000 pieces. The design brings a vintage-inspired display into a modern Prospex watch. Its most distinctive functional elements are the 24-hour bezel and the GMT hand, which can be adjusted independently of the time-of-day hands.
How does the SPB411 GMT display work?
The 6R54 is an automatic mechanical GMT movement. Seiko says its 24-hour hand adjusts independently in one-hour increments without interrupting the main time hands. Set that hand to a second time zone, then use the rotating 24-hour bezel to follow another offset; Seiko describes the combination as capable of displaying three times at once. #1 Best Overall
- KHAKI GREEN DIAL: this rugged sports watch features a khaki green dial patterned to mirror the shape of the bezel’s edge, with Lumibrite dial indicator hands and markers for low light and a magnified day/date calendar
- BLACK BEZEL: this versatile men’s watch features a black ceramic unidirectional bezel with distinctive scalloped edging, for elapsed timing

That is a manual watch display, not an automatic world-time system. The wearer must set the GMT hand and bezel for the relevant offsets, and account for local daylight-saving changes as needed. Seiko specifies an approximately 72-hour power reserve for the movement. Seiko’s movement information

How does the SPB411 compare with the Seiko SPB377?
The SPB377 Alpinist Mechanical GMT is a useful current Seiko comparison, but it is not identified as a successor or direct replacement for the SPB411. Seiko lists the same 6R54 movement and an approximately 72-hour reserve, while the case and display layout differ. Seiko’s SPB377 product page
| Feature | SPB411 Navigator Timer | SPB377 Alpinist GMT |
|---|---|---|
| Design and display | Navigator Timer-inspired design; rotating 24-hour bezel | Alpinist design with compass inner ring |
| Movement | 6R54 automatic mechanical GMT | 6R54 automatic mechanical GMT |
| Power reserve | Approximately 72 hours | Approximately 72 hours |
| Case diameter | 38.5 mm, reported by Monochrome Watches | 39.5 mm, listed by Seiko |
| Lug distance | 19 mm bracelet width, reported by Monochrome Watches | 20 mm lug distance, listed by Seiko |
| Band | Five-row steel bracelet, reported by Monochrome Watches | Cow-leather band, listed by Seiko |
Choose between them by the display and fit you want: the SPB411’s rotating 24-hour bezel and reported 45.2 mm lug-to-lug measurement contrast with the SPB377’s compass ring, 39.5 mm case and 20 mm lug distance. The SPB411 bracelet’s reported 19 mm width is not, by itself, proof that any particular replacement strap or bracelet will fit; end-link and spring-bar geometry also matter.

Is the Seiko SPB411 still available?
The available sources establish that the SPB411 was a limited 4,000-piece 2023 release, but they do not establish current authorized stock or transaction prices by country. Seiko’s current US Prospex lineup page does not list the model; omission from that page does not prove that it is discontinued or unavailable worldwide.
