These are manufacturer specifications from regional product pages, not independent test results. The SNJ039 dimensions differ slightly between the Australian and Philippine listings; keep each figure tied to the relevant market and suffix rather than averaging them.
What separates the movements and displays?
SRPJ35K1: an automatic, analog diver
The SRPJ35K1 uses Seiko’s 4R36 automatic movement, which can also be wound manually. Its analog display includes day and date. Seiko Boutique Philippines lists an approximately 41-hour power reserve. SNJ039: solar analog-digital with added functions
The SNJ039 uses the solar-powered H851 movement and combines analog hands with a digital display. Seiko’s regional listings describe additional functions including chronograph timing, alarm and calendar; the Philippine listing also names power-save, a battery-life warning and LED illumination. SEIKO Boutique Australia lists a six-month power reserve and an accuracy specification of ±15 seconds per month under stated normal temperature conditions. Which one wears larger?
The listed footprint favors the SRPJ35 if you want the smaller of these two cases: Seiko Boutique Philippines gives it a 45 mm diameter and 47.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement. SEIKO Boutique Australia lists the SNJ039P at 47.8 mm across and 50.5 mm long. Seiko Philippines lists the SNJ039P1 at 47 mm in diameter and 50.5 mm lug-to-lug, so the regional listings are not identical.
Those dimensions suggest the SNJ039 will have a more substantial listed footprint, but they cannot establish comfort or fit on a particular wrist. If fit is a deciding factor, try the exact reference on where possible; case shape and how the watch sits matter alongside the headline diameter.

How do their styles and functions differ?
Independent watch coverage commonly calls the SRPJ35 a “Turtle” and the SNJ039 an “Arnie,” shorthand for their distinct case styles. The SRPJ35 keeps its information on an analog dial with day and date. The SNJ039’s combination of hands and digital display suits someone who wants more timing and alarm options in one watch. Do not mistake this SNJ039 for a newer Seiko model with depth measurement, dive logging or ascent warnings. The cited SNJ039 specifications describe a solar analog-digital watch with timing and other functions, not a dive computer.

Seiko Boutique Philippines specifies 200 m / 660 ft diver’s water resistance for the SRPJ35K1. SEIKO Boutique Australia specifies 200 m diver’s water resistance for the SNJ039P, and Seiko Philippines lists 200 m / 660 ft diver’s for the SNJ039P1. These are published ratings; they are not evidence of independent testing or a comparison of real-world dive performance.

- Choose the SRPJ35 if you prefer an automatic movement, an analog display with day and date, and the smaller listed dimensions.
- Choose the SNJ039 if you want solar power, an analog-digital display, and functions such as a chronograph and alarm, and you are comfortable with its larger listed footprint.
- Check the exact reference and market before relying on dimensions or feature details: the cited pages use suffixes SRPJ35K1, SNJ039P and SNJ039P1, and the SNJ039 size figures vary between regional listings.
