The Seiko Prospex Turtle SRPE93 and Citizen Promaster Dive BN0150-28E are both rated to 200 metres, but their clearest difference is how they keep time: Seiko uses an automatic movement with a day-date display, while Citizen uses light-powered Eco-Drive with a date. Choose based on movement preference, fit and the specific dive-rating language that matters to you—not on depth rating alone.

Movement: automatic day-date or light-powered convenience?
Seiko: a traditional automatic
The SRPE93’s 4R36 is an automatic movement that can also be wound manually. It displays both the day and date, and Seiko lists an approximately 41-hour power reserve. It suits someone who values the mechanics and routine of an automatic watch and wants the extra weekday indication.
Citizen: Eco-Drive
The BN0150-28E’s E168 Eco-Drive movement runs on light and displays the date. Citizen says it is powered by any light source and eliminates the need to replace watch batteries. The cited Citizen product details do not specify a charge-duration figure; the six-month full-charge claim comes from the older Time+Tide comparison, so treat it as that publication’s reported figure rather than a current manufacturer specification.

Fit, weight and materials
The cases are close in listed width: 45 mm for Seiko and 44 mm for Citizen. Time+Tide describes the Citizen as thinner, reporting 12 mm versus Seiko’s official 13.4 mm, but that Citizen thickness figure is not supplied on the cited official product page. If case height, wrist profile or cuff clearance is important, try both on rather than relying only on diameter.
Seiko lists the SRPE93 at 124.0 g on its US page; Citizen Canada lists the BN0150-28E at 93.55 g. Since those figures come from separate regional listings, they indicate the published weights but do not establish a like-for-like weighing under identical conditions. Seiko specifies Hardlex crystal and a silicone strap; Citizen specifies an anti-reflective mineral crystal and a polyurethane strap. The cited specifications do not establish a universal durability winner.

Strap width also differs: Seiko lists 22 mm, Citizen 20 mm. If you plan to replace a strap, confirm fit for the exact reference and attachment before ordering; width alone does not establish compatibility.
What the 200-metre ratings do—and do not—tell you
Both manufacturers list 200-metre water resistance, but their product descriptions are not identical. Seiko’s US page calls the SRPE93 “200m / 660ft diver’s.” Citizen lists 200 m / 20 bar, identifies scuba diving, and explicitly describes the BN0150-28E as ISO-compliant. The cited Seiko page does not make the same explicit ISO-compliance statement. Matching depth figures should not be treated as proof that the two pages make identical certification claims.
