Its defining features are a glacier-inspired textured dial, a case design based on the 1968 6105-8000 diver, and an extra recycled-material Seichu polyester strap alongside its steel bracelet. Seiko’s published specifications make it possible to assess its dimensions and movement, but they do not establish how it wears or performs in practice.
What is the Seiko SPB333 Save the Ocean?
The SPB333J1 belongs to Seiko Prospex’s Save the Ocean line. In its December 2022 launch announcement, Seiko said the watch would be available from January 2023 as a limited edition of 5,000 pieces. The release marked the company’s 110th watchmaking anniversary.
Seiko based the case design on its 1968 6105-8000 diver. The SPB333 is a modern Prospex diver, not a reproduction of every detail of that historic model.
What makes the dial and package distinctive?
Glacier-inspired dial
The dial has a silvery, textured finish. Seiko describes it this way in its official SPB333 anniversary material: “The textured dial captures the power of the polar glaciers that shape the landscapes and seascapes of the Arctic and Antarctic.” That is the manufacturer’s description of the design; it does not establish a measured effect on legibility.

Bracelet and additional strap
The package pairs a five-row steel bracelet with a braided Seichu polyester strap. Seiko says the additional strap is made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. The official product page specifies a 20 mm lug width, useful if you are considering another strap, but no particular aftermarket option is confirmed here.

Seiko’s accuracy figure is a specification, not a guarantee of the rate a particular watch will achieve in daily use. Likewise, the 200 m designation is the manufacturer’s stated water-resistance rating; follow Seiko’s use and maintenance guidance rather than treating the number alone as a complete diving-use instruction.
How to judge whether its size suits you
Use the 46.9 mm lug-to-lug measurement alongside the 41.0 mm diameter when comparing the SPB333 with a watch you already own. Lug-to-lug gives a useful indication of how far the case may span across the wrist, while the 12.3 mm thickness helps describe its profile. These figures cannot substitute for trying it on: wrist shape, bracelet adjustment, and personal preference affect fit.

The 20 mm lug width gives a practical reference for strap compatibility. Before ordering a replacement, verify that the specific strap’s width, attachment, and construction suit this watch; the listed width alone does not verify a third-party product’s fit or quality.
Can you still buy the SPB333J1?
Seiko’s launch announcement said the edition would be available at Seiko Boutiques and select retail stores worldwide from January 2023. That is historical launch information, not confirmation of stock today. Current inventory, resale prices, and any seller’s authenticity are not established by Seiko’s published launch details.

The same December 2022 announcement listed a recommended retail price of SEK 15,998 for the market it cited. This is a regional launch-era price, not a current or worldwide price. Check with an authorized Seiko retailer for availability and pricing in your location.
