It is a modern homage to that watch, with a white enamel dial, compact 35 mm case and automatic Caliber 6R5H. Seiko announced a worldwide limited run of 1,000 pieces, with availability beginning in January 2024.
What the 100th anniversary marks
The anniversary is about the Seiko name appearing on a wristwatch dial, not the founding of the company. Seiko dates its company history to 1881; the first wristwatch introduced under the Seiko name arrived in 1924. Seiko says that watch followed the destruction of the Seikosha factory in the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake. The SPB441 commemorates that milestone rather than claiming Seiko itself began in 1924. Seiko’s November 2023 announcement describes the SPB441 as the opening creation for the centenary.
How the SPB441 recalls the 1924 watch
Seiko combines vintage cues with contemporary Presage construction. The dial is white enamel, with Seiko lettering at 12 o’clock, Arabic numerals, retro-styled blue hands and a 24-hour sub-dial at six. Movable lugs and a pull-through leather strap reinforce the older design language.
Seiko identifies master craftsman Mitsuru Yokosawa and colleagues as the specialists who made the enamel dial. The “S” trademark on the large crown and case back refers to the mark Kintaro Hattori registered in 1900 as a symbol of the Seikosha factory. The case back also carries Hattori’s name and a phrase Seiko presents as capturing his company philosophy: “Always one step ahead of the rest.” Seiko attributes that wording to his philosophy; the announcement does not establish it as a verbatim statement recorded directly from Hattori. At 35 mm across and 12.3 mm thick, the case is compact by contemporary standards, while the 72-hour reserve is the movement’s published running time when fully wound. Launch timing and announced prices
Seiko announced availability from January 2024 and published market-specific launch prices in its November 14, 2023 materials. Those prices are historical launch information, not current quotes or evidence that the watch is still in stock.

Seiko’s Swedish announcement and Canadian announcement carry their respective market prices. The Japanese manufacturer press release gives the Japan price and sale date.
