The Seiko Sportura Kinetic Chronograph SLQ019 is a discontinued collector watch associated with Seiko’s 9T82 Kinetic caliber. A 2005 report covered its announcement, and a specialist retailer describes it as a 2,005-piece limited edition; that production figure is retailer-published, not confirmed here by a Seiko document. If you are buying or maintaining one, verify the case-back code and the watch’s condition rather than relying on a listing title.

What is the Seiko Sportura SLQ019?

The SLQ019 is a Seiko Sportura Kinetic Chronograph. A specialist catalog identifies its case reference as 9T82-0AF0 and notes that SLQ019 may be a partial model number. Check the inscription on the individual watch’s case back, since regional or style suffixes may appear in a full reference.

WatchReport described the model as newly announced on October 22, 2005, in an article that also compared it with the SLQ017: WatchReport’s 2005 report. The model’s discontinued status is consistent with archived retailer stock marked sold out and secondary-market records, rather than a Seiko discontinuation notice.

What movement and specifications are listed?

Seiko’s instruction portal identifies caliber 9T82 as Kinetic. The SLQ019’s association with that caliber and the detailed specifications below come from specialist catalogs, not a retrieved Seiko-issued SLQ019 specification sheet.

The listings and catalog details are collected on the specialist SLQ019 model listing. Treat them as reference points when assessing an example, not as a substitute for inspecting it or confirming its markings.

How limited is the SLQ019?

Right Time International Watch Center calls the SLQ019 a 2005 limited edition and gives a production run of 2,005 pieces. Its publication date is not stated, and the figure is retailer-published rather than independently verified Seiko documentation: Right Time International Watch Center’s edition information.

The number makes the model collectible, but it does not by itself establish scarcity or resale value today. The number engraved on a specific watch should be checked alongside its reference and condition.

Where can you find the 9T82 manual?

  1. Read the caliber code engraved on the case back.
  2. Open Seiko’s instruction manual portal and select the matching caliber; the portal lists 9T82 under Kinetic.
  3. Use the instructions for the caliber actually marked on your watch, rather than relying only on a seller’s model description.

Can a Seiko 9T82 Kinetic Chronograph be serviced?

Seiko directs owners to its service centers and routes parts questions to authorized service. This does not confirm that a particular center currently stocks 9T82 or SLQ019-specific parts, or that every center accepts this vintage model. Use Seiko’s regional service-center information and support guidance to find the appropriate channel.

When contacting a center, provide the exact case-back code and ask whether it will assess the watch, whether parts are available, and what an estimate would cover. Do not assume that the watch’s age or its caliber alone guarantees a repair.

What to check before buying a used SLQ019

  • Identity: Match the case-back code to the seller’s stated reference and inspect any limited-edition engraving. The cataloged case reference is 9T82-0AF0, but the individual inscription is the evidence for that example.
  • Originality and condition: Inspect the dial, hands, case and finish for damage or replacement parts; ask for clear photographs and disclose any uncertainty.
  • Operation: Ask for evidence that the chronograph, date and charging behavior work. A seller’s claim is not a service inspection.
  • Service and water resistance: Request service records and any water-resistance test history. A catalog rating of 100 m does not establish the present condition of a vintage watch.
  • Completeness: Check bracelet fit and spare links, and confirm whether the original strap, sizing tool, box and papers are included.
  • Transaction terms: Compare seller location, return terms and listing date as well as the watch itself.

How should you estimate its value?

The WatchReport article’s price discussion dates to 2005 and is not a current valuation. Resale listings show individual asking prices or records, not a dependable market appraisal or necessarily completed-sale prices. To compare examples, look for the same reference and suffix, similar condition and originality, documented service, bracelet links and accessories, and comparable geography and listing dates. The available listing records do not establish a robust current transaction value.
