Seiko’s Power Design Project Panda Chronograph turns the familiar panda-watch look into an actual panda face: its subdials suggest eyes, the dial adds a nose and mouth, and the chronograph pushers evoke ears. The limited-edition release comes in white HHK001 and pink HHK002. Oracle Time reported UK launch pricing of £510 on 6 October 2026, but current stock and terms should be confirmed with a retailer.
What makes this Seiko a literal panda chronograph?
“Panda” usually describes a chronograph with a light dial and contrasting dark subdials. Seiko takes the idea more literally here. The subdials form droopy eyes, while a nose and mouth sit at six o’clock; an embossed radial dial pattern is meant to suggest fur. The recessed chronograph pushers are inspired by panda ears.
Seiko’s Power Design Project collection page also describes hands shaped like bamboo leaves and renames the outer tachymeter scale the “SASAMETER,” from sasa, which Seiko identifies as bamboo leaves. The caseback continues the theme with a panda viewed from behind and a white tail. The presentation box designs differ between the black-and-white and pink versions.
The production watch is based on a 2024 Power Design Project concept by designer Kiyotaka Sakai, according to Oracle Time’s 6 October 2026 launch report. Seiko’s collection page presents the design but does not provide that designer attribution or project date. This is a novelty animal-face design, not simply another conventional panda-dial chronograph; Oracle Time also distinguishes it from Seiko’s separate Speedtimer SSC813.

Oracle Time reports a combined production quantity of 5,000 watches. These are reported edition quantities, not a statement of how many remain for sale. The sources establish colour and quantity differences between the references, but do not establish different movements or other technical specifications.

Its specification block also lists €590 (approximately £515), so the article does not give a perfectly consistent price across currencies.
