What does the DT MAX bezel do?
The bezel carries two graduations, in meters and minutes. SERICA says this lets a diver read maximum working time at depth at a glance and supports a continuous ascent without decompression stops. That is the manufacturer’s description of the display’s intended function, not dive-safety guidance or evidence that the watch is operationally certified for a particular procedure. The black dial is marked “ANTIMAGNETIC CHRONOMETER.” SERICA says the wording reflects the danger posed by magnetic signatures near munitions; the cited product information does not establish operational safety certification. The larger Fat Lollipop seconds hand has an enlarged luminous marker, which the brand says is intended to improve readability.
SERICA describes the PLD straps as inspired by handmade straps used by French divers in the 1970s. Their signed buckles have redesigned polished-satin finishes. What is known about its case and movement?
SERICA lists a 39 mm case in 316L stainless steel, 30 bar water resistance and an automatic SoProd M100 mechanical caliber with COSC chronometer certification. The accessible product-page content does not establish the PLD’s thickness, lug-to-lug length, power reserve or movement accuracy figure, so those specifications should not be inferred from older 5303 coverage.
That distinction matters because the original 5303 was a different model. In a June 22, 2021 hands-on review, James Stacey reported dimensions of 39 mm across, 12.2 mm thick and 46.5 mm lug-to-lug, plus stated 300 m water resistance and a 20 mm-to-16 mm mesh bracelet. He discussed that watch’s Soprod Newton movement and described his own impressions of its fit, bracelet adjustment, bezel, finishing and legibility.
