The company describes that as a way to make time easier to read, but no measured study or independent test establishes how much it improves children’s learning.
How the Sher Kids Watch dial is designed to work
SHER’s central design choice is the dial. Its hour markers are segmented and offset, while a full minute track marks the minutes around the dial. SHER’s explanation is that children can follow each hand to its corresponding markings. The watch displays hours, minutes and seconds using a conventional quartz movement; it is not a smartwatch.
The concept is intended to make analogue time easier to interpret, not evidence of a proven teaching result. SHER founder Darren says his own childhood difficulty reading analogue watches, and seeing a similar challenge for his children, inspired the design. The company’s About page says, “Together with my children, we designed the Sher Kids Watch.” That account explains the product’s motivation, but does not establish clinical or educational efficacy.

SHER says the watch is sized for children aged five and up and can also suit adults with smaller wrists. A 32 mm case is only one part of fit: wrist circumference, lug-to-lug length, and how the strap sits matter too. The two included straps offer a choice of colour, but the listing does not establish the availability or compatibility of third-party replacements.
Battery-life claims differ by source
SHER’s current product page lists a two-year battery life. A February 2025 Time+Tide introduction and its retailer page described approximately three years. These are conflicting estimates from published descriptions, not test results; treat SHER’s current specification as the maker’s present claim and check directly if battery duration is important to your purchase.

Although SHER says the battery is replaceable by removing the caseback, it does not establish that owners should open the watch themselves. Ask SHER or a qualified watch service provider about replacement and preserving the stated water resistance.
Variants, price and availability
SHER’s product page lists Grey, Blue and Pink variants, optional caseback engraving, and an optional phone number on the strap intended to help identify a lost child. At the time that page was crawled, it displayed a £95 price and “Sold out”; stock and price can change, so check the live listing before ordering.

Time+Tide reported a £95 launch price, approximately US$120, in 2025, when the watch was offered for pre-order with expected June 2025 delivery. That is historical launch information, not a current delivery promise. SHER says it ships globally, that orders dispatch within 48 hours, and estimates delivery 7–10 days after dispatch depending on destination. Overseas orders may incur import duties or taxes. Confirm current shipping terms and any destination charges with SHER before buying.

The Sher Kids Watch may be worth considering if you specifically want a traditional watch with a dial designed around hour and minute hand interpretation. For a practical comparison with other children’s watches, assess the details that affect daily use rather than assuming a learning advantage:

There is not enough established model-level competitor information to claim that this watch is better than other children’s watches. Its clearest point of distinction is SHER’s stated dial layout and the intended time-reading rationale behind it.
