What is the Spinnaker SP-5129 Croft Dolphin Project?
SP-5129 is the reference family for Spinnaker’s Croft mid-size automatic Dolphin Project edition. Time+Tide Watches’ 23 February 2024 review describes it as a collaboration with Ric O’Barry’s Dolphin Project, whose stated aim, as reported in that review, has been to end dolphin suffering since 1970. According to Time+Tide, each dial has a wave-like surface with a repeating pattern of diving dolphins; a small dolphin motif sits opposite the seconds hand. The review also describes luminous hands and hour markers, plus luminous bezel markings. The case is mostly brushed stainless steel with polished chamfers. The watch is shown with an Oyster-style steel bracelet and a colored recycled-PET fabric strap; check the particular listing to confirm which components are included.

A separate Japanese listing for SP-5129-11 also describes an automatic movement, sapphire glass and 150 m water resistance. These specifications do not establish that a particular used or pre-owned example remains water-resistant. A water-resistance rating is not a substitute for checking the condition and service history of an individual watch.

How limited is the edition?
Time+Tide reports 600 pieces across the three colorways, or 200 per colorway. Those are figures attributed to the review, not an independently verified production record.
Launch price and finding one today
The review gives a launch price of US$425 in 2024. Treat that as historical launch pricing, not a current retail price or an estimate of resale value. Current prices and stock can differ by country, exact colorway, condition and seller. At the time its result was crawled, IPPO Japan Watch showed a price and an in-stock claim for SP-5129-11, while Timeshop24’s UK listing for SP-5129-22 said out of stock; these seller-specific listings do not establish overall availability. Before buying, compare the reference and dial color, condition, included bracelet or strap, packaging, seller location, return terms, warranty documentation and price on the date you check. Retailer specifications are useful listing information but are not the same as manufacturer confirmation.
Can you change the strap?
The reported 20 mm lug width makes 20 mm straps a reasonable search starting point. Confirm the actual lug and attachment fit, along with strap length, before ordering; the cited review does not test aftermarket straps or establish the fit of any particular replacement.
