For Fratello author Nacho Conde Garzón, a black, gray, and gold Artem seatbelt-style NATO was a particularly good match for his titanium Breitling Aerospace. Its colors echo the watch, while the layered strap adds a little height beneath a case he describes as slim and light. That is one owner’s considered pairing—not a universal fit recommendation or a current buying guide.
What makes the color pairing work?
The strap repeats the Aerospace’s gray, black, and gold tones, giving the combination a deliberate sense of coordination. Garzón’s point is that the match complements the watch without looking overly coordinated. A plain gray NATO is another understated option, while black or brown leather and alligator-grain leather offer different looks; the Fratello feature mentions these possibilities but does not test them side by side.
The featured strap is an Artem seatbelt-style NATO in black, gray, and gold. Garzón describes its feel as smooth and soft, yet tough, and says it has less shine than some other seatbelt-style NATO straps. Those are his tactile impressions, not measured material properties. Why does he think a NATO suits the Aerospace?
Garzón describes his titanium Aerospace as under 10 mm tall and light. He argues that the extra layers beneath a NATO add only a little height, leaving the watch slim on the wrist. He also reasons that a light watch is less likely to shift around on a soft NATO than a heavier, taller watch might. This is his experience and explanation, not independent testing or a guarantee that every Aerospace will sit the same way.

He had worn the NATO for at least three weeks when the February 24, 2022 feature was published. That account gives the pairing some real-wear context, but it does not establish how the strap performs for other owners or over longer-term use.
Does the NATO make the bracelet a poor choice?
No. Garzón initially expected to wear the titanium bracelet infrequently because he found it stretchy and jangly. Later, he says he came to enjoy it, adding that suitable spring bars stopped rattling at the bracelet’s hollow end links. The feature therefore presents the NATO as a pleasing alternative, not a definitive replacement for the bracelet.

The feature does not identify the Aerospace reference or state the strap’s width, price, or current availability. Since fit depends on the exact watch, verify the lug width for your own reference and check the current listing details before ordering.
