A leak claims Suunto’s rumored Race 3S would bring a brighter AMOLED display, sapphire crystal, twice the storage and longer continuous GPS runtime than the Race S. None of those specifications—or the reported launch date and price—has been confirmed by Suunto.
What the Suunto Race 3S leak claims
Notebookcheck reported on October 5, 2026, that images posted by a Reddit user and described as purported official marketing material show four changes for the Race 3S compared with the Race S. These are claims from leaked imagery, not independently verified specifications or test results.
| Reported feature | Race 3S leak claim | Race S comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Display | 1.32-inch AMOLED, 466 × 466 pixels, with peak brightness up to 2,000 nits | 600 nits peak brightness |
| Cover glass | Sapphire crystal | Gorilla Glass |
| Storage | 64 GB | 32 GB |
| Continuous GPS use | Up to 45 hours | Up to 30 hours |
The reported brightness figure is three times the Race S’s listed 600 nits. That is a comparison of figures attributed to the leak, not an independent brightness measurement. Likewise, the reported GPS runtime does not establish typical everyday battery life; the reporting does not provide test conditions for the figure. Notebookcheck’s October 5 report attributes the four changes to the purported marketing images.
What is and is not confirmed
The authenticity of the images remains uncertain. Gadgets & Wearables reported on October 2 that it could not independently confirm the material was genuine. Suunto has not officially announced the Race 3S in the sources available for this report, so the name, features and specifications should all be treated as unconfirmed.

The rumored timing and price are also not official. Notebookcheck says rumors point to an October 15 launch. Gadgets & Wearables describes October 15, 2026 as a target date rather than a fixed launch and reports a $499 US recommended price. No official listing or regional availability was established. These details could change or prove inaccurate. Gadgets & Wearables’ report also notes an inconsistency in the leaked material’s size references.
How the rumored watch compares with the Race S
The Race S is an existing Suunto performance sports watch with an AMOLED display, offline maps and outdoor-activity features. Suunto lists its dimensions as 45 × 45 × 11.4 mm on the official Race S product page. That is predecessor context only; it does not verify the Race 3S leak. Suunto’s Race S software notes document a staged update on April 7, 2026, including navigation and map changes such as offline-map contour lines and elevation labels.

For the rumored successor, leaked material reportedly gives a weight of 53 g and a thickness of 11.4 mm, but its size is inconsistent: one comparison calls it 45 mm, while some feature slides call it 46 mm. Gadgets & Wearables flags that discrepancy, so those dimensions should not be treated as settled.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the claimed upgrades could mean for buyers
- Display and glass: The reported higher peak brightness could make the screen easier to read in bright conditions, while sapphire would replace the Race S’s Gorilla Glass. The leak does not establish real-world readability, durability or how the display performs outside peak-brightness conditions.
- Storage: The claimed increase from 32 GB to 64 GB could leave more room for map data and music, as Notebookcheck notes. The leak does not specify how much usable space would remain or what content the watch would support.
- GPS runtime: The reported increase from 30 to 45 hours applies to continuous GPS use in the claimed comparison. It should not be read as an estimate of ordinary-use battery life.
- Price and availability: The reported $499 US price and October 15, 2026 target are not confirmed. Without an official listing, buyers cannot rely on the price, release timing or availability in their region.
Until Suunto confirms the model and publishes specifications, the Race S is the only established watch in this comparison. Anyone considering it should use Suunto’s current product information rather than treating the rumored Race 3S details as a buying specification.
