Swatch opened a flagship store at 260 Collins Street in Melbourne’s CBD in March 2024. The company describes the 239-square-metre store as its largest in Australia; another 2024 report gives a different area, so the size is not consistently reported.
Where the Melbourne Swatch store is
The store is at 260 Collins Street, within St. Collins Lane in Melbourne’s CBD. Swatch announced the opening in March 2024, but the available reports do not establish the exact first day of trading. Swatch’s announcement gave the address and called the location its new flagship.
How large is the flagship?
Swatch identifies the store as its biggest Australian location and gives its floor area as 239 square metres. Ragtrader also reported 239 square metres in its 6 March 2024 coverage of the Melbourne and Perth flagship openings. However, Retail & Leisure International reported 315 square metres on 8 March 2024. The company’s 239-square-metre figure is the best-supported lead figure, but published reports differ.
What the store looks like
The design draws on Melbourne’s laneways, using glass and metallic brick walls. Ragtrader describes an open walk-through layout with seven glass-brick totem walls, collection islands and large LED screens. Swatch also describes a bar concept where customers can sit while staff present collections.
