The TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300m Calibre 5 Titanium in Time+Tide’s December 2016 hands-on review is a 43 mm diver with a black-treated titanium case, black ceramic bezel, sand-coloured details and orange accents. The review reports a Sellita movement and 300 m water resistance, and lists an Australian price of A$3,550 at the time. It does not give the watch a reference number, so it should not be confused with TAG Heuer’s later green WBP208B.BF0631.
Which Aquaracer does this review cover?
This article concerns the watch reviewed by Felix Scholz for Time+Tide on 22 December 2016. The review does not state a model reference number. That distinction matters because the black, sand-accented watch described there is not the green-dial WBP208B.BF0631 introduced in a later Aquaracer generation.
Read the 2016 Time+Tide hands-on review.
What does the 2016 watch look like?
Time+Tide describes a 43 mm titanium case treated to a matte-black finish with titanium carbide, paired with a black ceramic bezel. Horizontal stripes give the dial texture, while applied numerals and hands, a chunky nylon strap and generous luminous material bring in sand-coloured tones. An orange seconds hand and orange bezel triangle add brighter points of contrast.
The reviewer’s assessment of the design and wrist presence is positive, but it is subjective review opinion rather than a measured fit or performance result. The article also mentions versions with blue or red highlights; that historical note does not establish that those variants are available now.

How is it different from the green WBP208B.BF0631?
TAG Heuer’s separate WBP208B.BF0631 is a green-dial Aquaracer Professional 300 Date from the 2021 generation, not the watch in the 2016 hands-on review. TAG Heuer identifies it as discontinued on its product page. Its listed €4,900 price is therefore not evidence of current retail availability or market value.

Because the 2016 article supplies no reference number and current availability is unverified, a listing described only as an “Aquaracer Titanium” may refer to a different generation or configuration. Identify the watch by its actual details before judging price or specifications.

- Match the dial, case treatment, bezel and strap to the black-treated, sand-accented watch described in the 2016 review.
- Ask for the reference number and verify it against photographs and documentation; the Time+Tide article itself does not provide one.
- Check the movement and condition on the individual watch rather than assuming details not given by the review, such as a specific Sellita calibre or power reserve.
- Compare prices only after separating the 2016 Australian figure from later models’ prices, currencies and dates.
For a comparison with newer divers, start with reference and generation, then compare case material and finish, dimensions, dial and bezel configuration, movement and reserve, water resistance, and the price’s region and date. The available coverage does not establish a comprehensive current competitor ranking.
