The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver (ref. WBP5A8A.BF0619) pairs a manufacturer-rated 1,000-metre depth rating and saturation-diving features with a 45 mm grade 5 titanium case. Its TH30-00 movement is COSC-certified and offers a stated 70-hour power reserve. Those specifications make it a highly equipped professional-style dive watch, but its 45 mm diameter and 15.75 mm thickness are substantial dimensions to consider before buying. TAG Heuer publishes the specifications and certification claims; no independent performance test is available here.
What the Superdiver is designed to offer
TAG Heuer introduced the Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver in 2022, extending a deep-dive lineage that the brand traces to the Heuer 1000m Diver of 1982 and the Super Professional of 1984. The current reference is WBP5A8A.BF0619. TAG Heuer lists water resistance to 1,000 metres and says the watch is certified to ISO 6425:2018 for saturation divers’ watches. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independently verified test results in this review. A depth rating is not advice to dive to that depth or a replacement for appropriate equipment and safe diving practice.

Size and materials: the main everyday trade-off
The 45 mm diameter and 15.75 mm thickness give this watch a distinctly large case profile on paper. Fit is individual, but those measurements are worth comparing with a watch that sits comfortably on your wrist, especially if you plan to wear it under a close-fitting sleeve. TAG Heuer specifies grade 5 titanium for the case and bracelet, with a titanium folding clasp. The material choice keeps the construction aligned with the watch’s tool-oriented design, though the published specifications alone do not establish how it feels during extended wear.

Movement, legibility and dive features
TH30-00 automatic movement
TAG Heuer says the TH30-00 is COSC-certified and produced by Kenissi Manufacture SA to TAG Heuer specifications. The stated power reserve is 70 hours, and the listed functions are hours, minutes, seconds and date. A COSC certification is a useful movement credential, but it does not by itself verify the performance of this particular watch after years of use or under diving conditions.
Dial and bezel
The official brochure describes a black sunray-brushed dial, with Super-LumiNova on the indexes and hands. The unidirectional bezel combines black ceramic with orange hybrid ceramic. These elements provide the watch’s specified dive-oriented display and timing hardware; this review does not include hands-on checks of visibility, bezel operation or lume duration.

- DIVER-INSPIRED DESIGN — Inspired by the sea, the MDV-106G is styled after classic dive watches and delivers 200-meter water resistance at an unbeatable price point. The black resin band and stainless steel case give it a classic look, while the anti-reverse rotary bezel adds authentic dive-watch character.
- STAINLESS STEEL CASE WITH SCREW-LOCK CROWN & CASEBACK — The MDV-106G features a stainless steel case and a reliable screw-lock crown for enhanced water resistance protection. Screw-down crown and screw-lock caseback work together to keep the movement sealed and secure during water activities — a construction standard found on dive watches far above this price range.
- LARGE FLUORESCENT HANDS & INDICES FOR INSTANT READABILITY — The dial features hands and hour indices with large fluorescent areas for easy reading in low-light and underwater conditions. The clean 3-hand analog layout with date display at 3 o'clock keeps the dial uncluttered and immediately legible at a glance.
- 44MM STAINLESS STEEL CASE | 22MM LUG WIDTH | MINERAL GLASS — The case measures 44mm in diameter, 12mm in height, with a 49mm lug-to-lug length and a standard 22mm lug width — making strap upgrades effortless with a vast range of aftermarket options. Mineral glass protects the dial from everyday scratches and impacts.
- 3-YEAR BATTERY & 200M WATER RESISTANCE — Powered by an SR626SW battery with an approximate 3-year life, the case measures 49.5 × 46.3 × 12.1mm and weighs 92 grams. At 200 meters of water resistance, the Duro is versatile and suitable for all situations — whether in the water, hiking, running, or at the office.
Helium valve and saturation-diving certification
TAG Heuer identifies a helium valve and ISO 6425:2018 certification for saturation divers’ watches. The certification and 1,000-metre rating are meaningful parts of the stated specification, but neither should be read as an independent test conducted for this review. Divers should follow the equipment maker’s instructions and established diving procedures rather than treating a watch rating as a safe operating depth.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver worth buying?
It is worth considering if you specifically want a large titanium dive watch with a manufacturer-stated 1,000-metre rating, saturation-diving credentials, a helium valve and a COSC-certified automatic movement. The deciding compromise is physical scale: at 45 mm across and 15.75 mm thick, it is not a discreet option, and individual wrist fit matters. If you do not need its depth rating or saturation-diving features, those specifications may offer less practical value than a more compact or simpler watch.
