The watch behind the “TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Panda” debut is the 42 mm Carrera Chronograph Sport, reference CDB2113.BA0054. Its silver sunray-brushed dial, three black azuré subdials and black ceramic bezel give it the panda look; TAG Heuer lists an automatic Calibre TH20-00, 80-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. This is a specification-led introduction, not a firsthand review: wrist fit, weight, reflections, legibility in changing light and pusher feel have not been independently assessed here.
Which TAG Heuer Carrera panda chronograph is this?
The exact reference is CDB2113.BA0054, officially named the Carrera Chronograph Sport Automatic. TAG Heuer describes the silver-and-black dial as a panda interpretation: the light silver sunray-brushed surface contrasts with three black azuré counters. A fixed black ceramic bezel and black flange frame the dial. TAG Heuer’s product page is the source for the model identity and listed specifications.

“Panda” describes the dial contrast, not a separate movement or complication. TAG Heuer’s official copy calls this version a revisit of the iconic panda dial. The black counters provide the defining visual contrast against the silver face; the bezel and flange add further black accents.
How big is the 2026 Carrera Chronograph Sport panda?
TAG Heuer lists the case as 42 mm in diameter, 14.2 mm thick and 22 mm between the lugs. It is made of steel with fine-brushed and polished surfaces, and has a sapphire-and-steel caseback. The fixed bezel is black ceramic. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements or an assessment of how the watch wears on a particular wrist.

- Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph Automatic Black Dial Men's Watch CBN2A1AA.BA0643
| Specification | TAG Heuer listing |
|---|---|
| Case diameter | 42 mm |
| Case thickness | 14.2 mm |
| Lug distance | 22 mm |
| Case and bracelet | Steel; H-shaped steel bracelet with easy-link adjustment system |
| Bezel | Fixed black ceramic |
| Water resistance | 100 m |
The 100 m water-resistance figure is the brand’s stated rating; it is not a guarantee of performance for an individual watch or a substitute for following TAG Heuer’s care and use guidance. The 22 mm lug distance describes the space between the lugs, but by itself does not establish that any particular aftermarket strap will fit properly.
What movement is in the Carrera Chronograph Sport?
The watch uses TAG Heuer’s automatic in-house Calibre TH20-00. The manufacturer states an 80-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour, or 4 Hz. Listed functions are hours, minutes, seconds, date and chronograph. The chronograph has a quarter-second indication, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter.
TAG Heuer describes the chronograph as using a column wheel and vertical clutch, with bidirectional winding. The sapphire caseback exposes movement finishing to view. These are brand-published construction and specification details rather than an independent movement inspection.

How is it different from the 39 mm Glassbox panda?
The 42 mm Chronograph Sport CDB2113.BA0054 and the 39 mm Carrera Glassbox panda CBS2216 are related Carrera chronographs, but they are distinct models—not simply two case sizes of one watch. The Glassbox reference is a separate earlier design, covered in TAG Heuer’s 2024 editorial on the Carrera panda and its historic inspirations. The current Sport’s official specifications should not be carried over to that model, or vice versa.
| Feature | Carrera Chronograph Sport CDB2113.BA0054 | Carrera Glassbox panda CBS2216 |
|---|---|---|
| Case diameter | 42 mm, TAG Heuer specification | 39 mm, as identified in TAG Heuer’s 2024 editorial |
| Design identity | Sport model; silver sunray dial, black azuré counters, black ceramic fixed bezel | Glassbox design; reverse-panda configuration discussed in TAG Heuer’s 2024 editorial |
| Movement, thickness, lug distance, water resistance | TH20-00; 14.2 mm; 22 mm; 100 m, per TAG Heuer’s current product listing | Not stated in the cited 2024 editorial |
| Bracelet or strap | H-shaped steel bracelet listed by TAG Heuer | Not stated in the cited 2024 editorial |
TAG Heuer’s 2024 article connects the Glassbox panda design to earlier Carrera references including the 3147 Dato 12 and 2447 NS. That historical lineage is useful context, but it does not make the 39 mm Glassbox and the 42 mm Sport the same watch.

The product information establishes the model’s published design and specifications; it does not establish firsthand impressions. A genuine hands-on assessment would need to check wrist fit and balance, the effect of the 14.2 mm thickness, bracelet adjustment and clasp comfort, how the polished and brushed surfaces catch light, dial readability, and the action of the chronograph pushers. No conclusion about those qualities should be inferred from the specification sheet alone.

Why does the Carrera name matter?
TAG Heuer dates the Carrera’s introduction to 1963. The marque frames the collection around racing inspiration and legibility; that heritage helps explain why a chronograph is central to the line, but it is brand history rather than proof of this particular watch’s on-wrist readability. See TAG Heuer’s history of the Carrera for the collection context.
