The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport TH-Carbonspring, reference CBU5091.FT6305, pairs a 44 mm forged-carbon case with TAG Heuer’s in-house TH-Carbonspring oscillator and a one-minute flying tourbillon. It is a 50-piece limited edition revealed in 2025. TAG Heuer lists the price as “Price on demand”; the dimensions and technical details below are manufacturer specifications, not results from an independent hands-on test.
What sets this Carrera apart?
This is not simply a Carrera chronograph with a tourbillon added. Its defining feature is the TH-Carbonspring: a carbon-composite hairspring developed and produced in-house by TAG Heuer. The watch combines that oscillator with Calibre TH20-61 COSC, a 4 Hz automatic chronograph movement with a one-minute flying tourbillon.

TAG Heuer says it spent nine years developing the patented hairspring and describes it as light, shock-resistant and amagnetic. Those are manufacturer claims; the published material does not provide independent measurements of shock resistance, magnetic performance or timekeeping under changing conditions.

Forged carbon, across the case and dial
TAG Heuer uses forged carbon for the case, fixed tachymeter bezel, crown, pushers and dial. The dial has spiral engraving, while the caseback combines sapphire with grade 2 titanium coated in black DLC. A black rubber strap is secured by a folding clasp in black-DLC-coated titanium.
The display places the flying tourbillon at 6 o’clock. TAG Heuer specifies faceted hands treated in black gold, with white Super-LumiNova and white lacquer accents. The brand says the components are optimized for strength and lightness, but that description should not be read as a report of observed weight, wrist comfort or real-world legibility.

How TAG Heuer says TH-Carbonspring is made
In its 2025 technical explanation, TAG Heuer describes a chemical-vapor-deposition process: hydrocarbon gases decompose on a metallic catalyst layer at 600–850°C, forming a three-dimensional carbon scaffold. The brand says a tailored production cycle can take up to eight hours. It also says each hairspring receives visual and mechanical testing before being paired with a dedicated aluminum balance wheel with gold inserts for temperature compensation.
These details explain the manufacturer’s approach, rather than independently establishing how the movement performs in daily wear. The product listing specifies COSC certification, but the cited product and technology pages do not provide independent results for this particular watch’s shock or anti-magnetic behavior.
