The TAG Heuer Carrera Three Hands collection is for readers who want the Carrera’s time-focused design without a chronograph. Its key choice is functional: a Date for a straightforward calendar, a Day-Date for both calendar details, or a Date Twin-Time for keeping track of another time zone. Current examples span 36 mm and 41 mm cases, but specifications vary by reference.

What “Three Hands” means in the Carrera range
“Three Hands” distinguishes these models from Carrera chronographs. They display hours, minutes and seconds without chronograph counters; calendar and second-time-zone functions vary by model. In TAG Heuer’s 2021 collection overview, Creative Product Design Director Guy Bove said the design objective was to recapture the original Carrera’s “sporty elegance.” The brand also reported that removing chronograph counters lets attention fall on the dial and case architecture.
That 2021 overview described a broader set of sizes and variants. It is useful for understanding the family, but it is not a definitive current catalogue: current regional pages and brochures show newer references, including a 36 mm Date and 41 mm Day-Date and Date Twin-Time examples.

These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independently measured results. The Twin-Time reference and regional specifications should be confirmed on the exact product page before choosing a particular configuration.
Pick the Date for a simple calendar
The 36 mm Date is the most compact of these current examples and keeps the complication to the date. TAG Heuer’s brochure specifies hours, minutes, seconds and date, a sapphire crystal, and 100 m water resistance for the cited 36 mm references. Its date sits at 6 o’clock, giving the dial a centered layout.
Pick the Day-Date if both calendar details matter
The cited 41 mm Day-Date adds the weekday as well as the date. TAG Heuer’s 2025 brochure lists reference WDA2112.BA0043 with a blue sunray dial, TH31-02 automatic movement, and 100 m water resistance. Its stated 80-hour reserve is the manufacturer’s specification for this movement and reference, not a performance test.
Pick Twin-Time if you need to follow another time zone
Twin-Time adds a separate hour hand so a wearer can keep another time zone in view alongside local time. That is useful when coordinating with home or colleagues abroad; it is less compelling if a second zone is rarely needed. TAG Heuer’s current US page presents a teal Twin-Time, while the 2025 brochure names TH31-03 and an 80-hour reserve for the family.

How the sizes and specifications fit together
Case size is not the only distinction. The date-only 36 mm example pairs a Calibre 7 with a 56-hour stated reserve; the cited 41 mm Day-Date and Twin-Time use different movements, with 80-hour reserves in TAG Heuer’s 2025 brochure. Water resistance and other details should be checked against the exact reference rather than carried across the range.
The historical overview listed Date at 39 mm, Day-Date at 41 mm, Twin-Time Date at 41 mm, and Date at 29 mm. Current material establishes 36 mm Date examples alongside 41 mm Day-Date and Twin-Time examples, but does not make the older list a complete account of today’s availability. Bracelet and strap details are reference-specific
TAG Heuer’s 2025 brochure describes an H-shaped bracelet with easy-link adjustment and a double folding clasp, as well as a self-interchangeable strap option. The brochure does not establish that every bracelet or strap fits every Carrera Three Hands reference. Check compatibility and availability for the precise model before ordering a replacement or alternate strap.
Which Carrera Three Hands should you investigate?
- Choose the 36 mm Date if a date is enough and you prefer the smaller current example described here.
- Choose the 41 mm Day-Date if seeing weekday and date on the watch is useful.
- Choose Twin-Time if you regularly need to read a second time zone without consulting another device.
- Compare exact references for movement, reserve, dial, bracelet or strap, water resistance, and regional availability; these details should not be assumed to carry across the family.
