Why the watch uses Gulf’s blue and orange
The blue and orange stripes draw on Gulf’s recognizable motorsport livery. TAG Heuer connects the colors to endurance racing and to the 1971 film Le Mans: Steve McQueen wore a Heuer Monaco while driving a Gulf-liveried Porsche 917. That historical link is to the Monaco and the film, not to the Formula 1 watch itself.
