What is the Longines Ultra-Chron Carbon?
The exact reference is L2.839.4.52.2. Longines announced the watch in 2025 as a new Ultra-Chron model and described carbon as a first for Longines watch cases—not a first across the watch industry. The brand connects the design to its original Ultra-Chron Diver, which it dates to 1968. Longines’ US product page identifies the model, while its 2025 release provides the launch and heritage context.

Is the Ultra-Chron Carbon titanium?
Not entirely. Longines describes a cushion-shaped case with a carbon middle and titanium structure. The fixed bezel, screw-down crown and case back are titanium; the bezel has an aluminium insert. The anthracite dial is sandblasted, with applied indexes and blue Super-LumiNova. A black technical-fabric strap is fitted with a titanium buckle. So the defining case material is carbon, supported by titanium components—not a solid titanium case. These construction details are in Longines’ technical sheet.
Dimensions and stated weight
Longines specifies a 43 mm case diameter, 14 mm thickness and 22 mm lug distance. The technical sheet gives total weight for the watch and bracelet as up to 80 g. That is the manufacturer’s stated figure, not a promise that it will feel light or fit comfortably on every wrist. The 22 mm lug distance is useful when checking strap sizing; confirm spring-bar and strap compatibility with Longines or an authorized service provider before buying.

What movement is inside?
The watch uses Longines calibre L836.6, a self-winding movement running at 5 Hz, or 36,000 vibrations per hour. Longines specifies 25 jewels, a silicon balance spring, magnetic resistance under ISO 764 and up to 52 hours of power reserve. The brand says the whole watch is chronometer-certified by TIMELAB; the stated certifier is not COSC. These are manufacturer specifications in the Longines technical sheet, not independent timing-test results.
How water resistant is it?
Longines rates the Ultra-Chron Carbon to 30 bar, equivalent to 300 metres. It also specifies a screw-down titanium crown and case back. This is the manufacturer’s water-resistance rating; the cited product information does not provide a use-specific diving recommendation or independently tested performance.
