What is the TAG Heuer Monaco Skeleton Blue?
It is the Original Blue version of TAG Heuer’s 2023 Monaco Skeleton Chronograph, reference CBL2182.FT6235. TAG Heuer announced the skeleton-dial model on May 26, 2023, to mark the 80th Monaco Grand Prix, calling it the first Monaco Chronograph with a skeleton dial in the core collection. The modern watch is a design tribute, not the vintage watch McQueen wore: TAG Heuer identifies that film watch as reference 1133B. The two references should not be conflated.
Case size and wear dimensions
TAG Heuer’s brochure specifies a 39 mm case. Monochrome Watches’ 2023 launch report gives further dimensions: 39 × 39 mm, 14.7 mm thick and 47.4 mm lug-to-lug. Those additional measurements are the outlet’s reported figures, not dimensions stated in the brand brochure.
The square outline and 47.4 mm lug-to-lug measurement are useful context when considering fit, but dimensions alone cannot establish how the watch will feel on a particular wrist. No wrist-size or extended-wear observations for this exact reference are established in the cited reporting.
Movement and chronograph functions
TAG Heuer names the movement in its brochure as the Calibre Heuer 02 Automatic. The listed functions are hours, minutes, seconds, date and chronograph.

Monochrome’s 2023 specifications describe the Heuer 02 as an integrated automatic chronograph with a column wheel and vertical clutch. The outlet reports a 31 mm movement diameter, 33 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and an 80-hour power reserve. Its table lists 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters alongside the date display. These movement details and figures are Monochrome’s reported specifications.
Dial, case and strap details
Openworked blue dial
The blue sandblasted dial is openworked to reveal movement components. TAG Heuer describes blue and red accents on the dial, column wheel and oscillating-mass engravings. The hands and carved indices are treated with Super-LumiNova, according to the brand; the published material does not provide a measured lume-duration or brightness test.

Titanium case and crystal
The case is sandblasted Grade 2 titanium in its natural finish, not black DLC-coated titanium. TAG Heuer specifies a beveled, domed sapphire crystal and 100 m water resistance. That is the brand’s stated rating; it does not by itself describe a real-world water test or guarantee suitability for every water activity.
Strap and clasp
The watch is supplied on an embossed blue calfskin-and-rubber strap. TAG Heuer specifies a Grade 2 titanium folding clasp with double safety pushbuttons.

How Original Blue differs from Dark Blue
The similar names refer to different watches. Original Blue is the 2023 CBL2182.FT6235, with natural sandblasted titanium and blue, red and white detailing. The later Dark Blue is CBL2188.FT6261, with a black DLC-coated Grade 2 titanium case, dark blue dial and yellow chronograph accents. The later model’s official page lists TH20-00; that designation should not be substituted for the Heuer 02 name in the 2023 Original Blue brochure.

Monochrome Watches reported a launch price of CHF 10,500 for Original Blue in 2023. This is historical launch pricing from that outlet, not a current price or a global retail quote. A present-day price depends on market and availability, neither of which is established by that launch figure.
