The TAG Heuer Monaco Titan, reference CAW218B.FC6496, is a 39 mm limited-edition chronograph with a sand-blasted Grade 2 titanium case, automatic Calibre 11 and a stated 100 m water resistance. TAG Heuer lists 500 pieces and marks the model discontinued; its UK product page displays £6,750, a regional listing rather than a current or universal transaction price. The published specifications make it a distinctive Monaco on paper, but they cannot establish how it wears or performs in practice.

What the Monaco Titan is

CAW218B.FC6496 is a grey-dial Monaco chronograph in titanium. TAG Heuer calls it the first Monaco cased in Grade 2 titanium and describes the material as lightweight and strong. Those are the manufacturer’s descriptions; no independent weighing or material test is available here. The Monaco collection dates to 1969, according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry FH, but the collection history does not add specifications for this particular reference.

TAG Heuer’s official product page for CAW218B.FC6496 is the source for the model details below. The FH’s 2024–2025 new-models page provides general collection context and describes a different Monaco model.

Case, dial and strap

  • Case: 39 mm, sand-blasted Grade 2 titanium.
  • Bezel and caseback: fixed titanium bezel and Grade 2 titanium caseback.
  • Dial: grey.
  • Strap and clasp: black alligator strap with a push-button folding clasp in Grade 5 titanium.
  • Water resistance: 100 m as stated by TAG Heuer.

These are published specifications, not a hands-on assessment. In particular, the stated water-resistance rating does not document real-world performance, and the material specification alone does not establish how the watch feels on the wrist.

Calibre 11 and chronograph functions

The watch uses TAG Heuer’s automatic Calibre 11. The manufacturer lists a 40-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz). Its stated functions are hours, minutes, seconds, date and a chronograph that measures quarter-seconds, with a 30-minute counter.

The movement figures describe the published specification; they are not independent measurements of this example’s accuracy or power reserve. No independent performance test is available to support a judgment about timekeeping.

Edition, status and listed price

TAG Heuer describes CAW218B.FC6496 as a 500-piece limited edition and labels it discontinued on its UK product page. That page displays £6,750. This is the price shown on TAG Heuer’s UK page, not confirmation of current stock, a current resale value or a price applicable in other regions. Availability and displayed pricing can differ by territory or change over time.

What the specifications do—and do not—tell you

The published details identify a compactly sized, titanium-cased Monaco with a familiar chronograph role and a relatively short stated power reserve of 40 hours. They do not provide a basis for ranking it against other watches on comfort, legibility, finishing, accuracy or water performance. TAG Heuer’s description of the piece as “sporty, understated and lightweight” is promotional language, not an independent evaluation.

For someone considering the reference, the most useful next step is to confirm availability and condition with a seller and, where possible, inspect the watch in person. The discontinued label and limited-edition claim identify its status in TAG Heuer’s listing; neither guarantees that a particular seller has a genuine example available.
