TAG Heuer launched production of a Formula 1 special-edition watch designed with Max Verstappen in July 2018. The launch account said the run was limited to 1,300 pieces and that the watch was expected in boutiques from November 2018—a historical release plan, not confirmation of current availability.
How Verstappen helped design the watch
On 13 July 2018, Verstappen visited TAG Heuer’s manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds to put the finishing touches to the watch and launch its production. The announcement came less than two weeks after his Austrian Grand Prix victory, according to Verstappen.com’s launch report.
Verstappen selected the model, dial, bezel, hands and strap with guidance from TAG Heuer’s product team. He described his aim this way: “Right from the start, I had quite clear ideas about the look and design of my watch. I wanted a model that reflected me, and that I could wear every day, both at and away from the race track.”
Edition size and planned release
The launch report identifies the watch as the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Max Verstappen Special Edition and says the production run was limited to 1,300 pieces. At the time of the report, boutique availability was expected from November 2018. That date records the planned launch schedule; the report does not establish whether any examples are currently available.

What the launch report does—and does not—specify
The account describes the watch as a sporty chronograph, but it does not provide a reference number or a full technical specification. It therefore does not establish the movement, case dimensions or materials. Those details should not be inferred from the edition name alone.

The 2018 launch report does not give a current price, resale data or marketplace stock information. If you encounter a listing, verify that it identifies the Max Verstappen Special Edition rather than a different TAG Heuer Formula 1 model. Check the reference number, condition, edition details and seller documentation against reliable information before treating the listing as a match.
