OMEGA’s 2021 Seamaster 300 refresh updated the heritage diver associated with the 1957 original without confusing it with the separate Seamaster Diver 300M. The 41 mm Master Chronometer pairs a vintage-inspired sandwich dial and lollipop seconds hand with a slimmer-profile design, revised bracelet and calibre 8912. This guide covers the steel and Bronze Gold launch versions, their documented specifications and the prices reported at launch.
What the 2021 refresh is—and isn’t
The watch is the heritage Seamaster 300 Master Chronometer, not the Seamaster Diver 300M. OMEGA framed the 2021 release as a return to a 1950s icon with vintage touches and modern precision in its 2021 Novelties announcement. The refresh retains the earlier model’s vintage-inspired character while updating the case, dial, bracelet and movement.
OMEGA describes the original Seamaster 300 as a popular, reliable choice among experienced divers, scientists and military personnel working at sea. That is the brand’s historical framing, rather than an independent assessment.
Case and bezel: a thinner-looking profile
OMEGA specifies a 41 mm steel case and says the refreshed case appears thinner through a new domed sapphire crystal. The bezel is also thinner and uses oxalic anodized-treated aluminium. Monochrome Watches’ 2021 launch coverage reports the steel case as 13.85 mm thick, with 300 m water resistance, a screw-in crown, sapphire caseback, and black or blue anodized-aluminium bezel. The thickness and water-resistance figures are from that report, not independent measurements for this guide.

Sandwich dial and vintage-style lume
The dial uses two layers: a luminous lower plate and an upper plate cut out around the hour markers and open Arabic numerals. The construction gives the indices depth while keeping the display legible. OMEGA brought back the lollipop central seconds hand as a historical design cue. Monochrome notes that the hour hand is a faceted broad arrow and the minute hand is sword-shaped.
OMEGA says Super-LumiNova appears on the bezel scale, markers and hands. The minute hand and bezel pip glow green; the other luminous indications glow blue. This split-color arrangement makes the minute indication visually distinct from the rest of the dial.

Bracelet and fit adjustment
OMEGA revised the bracelet with streamlined fittings and a thinner clasp. Its stated adjustment system offers three button-operated positions. Monochrome describes the mechanism as a fine-adjustment rack and pusher and reports a 21 mm lug width. That lug measurement alone does not establish compatibility with other watches: end-link shape and reference-specific fit also matter.
Launch versions and reported prices
Monochrome’s 2021 launch article documented three configurations. Its CHF figures are launch-era reported prices, not current offers.

Calibre 8912 and Master Chronometer specification
The refreshed collection uses OMEGA calibre 8912, replacing calibre 8400 according to Monochrome’s launch coverage. OMEGA describes it as a self-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, approved by METAS, with a 60-hour power reserve, 3.5 Hz frequency and resistance to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. These are OMEGA’s published specifications, not results of testing for this article.

What distinguishes Bronze Gold
The Bronze Gold version changes more than the case color. Monochrome’s 2021 article describes a brown ceramic bezel, a bronze dial with aged patina, and a brown leather strap, with a matching Bronze Gold buckle. It reports that OMEGA’s alloy contains 37.5% gold (9k), as well as palladium and silver, and was designed to resist the verdigris associated with traditional bronze. Those composition and aging characteristics are attributed to OMEGA as reported in that launch coverage.

The available specifications establish differences in materials, dial color and strap configuration, but do not support a ranking of comfort or wearability. Try the exact configuration if fit is a deciding factor.
