The Oura Ring 5 is the best smart ring overall in 2026, combining strong sleep and recovery insights with iPhone and Android support. It is not the best choice for everyone: Samsung Galaxy owners may prefer the subscription-free Galaxy Ring, while RingConn Gen 3 is a strong option for longer claimed battery life without a recurring fee.
This guide compares the leading rings by features, compatibility, cost and battery claims. Battery figures are manufacturers’ claims unless identified as test results; real-world endurance varies by use.
Best smart rings of 2026 at a glance
| Ring | Best for | Battery claim | Starting US price | Main catch |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oura Ring 5 | Best overall; sleep and recovery | Up to 9 days | $399 | $5.99/month or $69.99/year membership for advanced features |
| Samsung Galaxy Ring | Samsung Galaxy owners | Up to 7 days | Varies by retailer and bundle | No iPhone support; some features require a Galaxy phone |
| RingConn Gen 3 | Long battery life without a subscription | 11–14 days | From $349 | Exercise tracking and app polish lag behind Oura |
| Ultrahuman Ring PRO | Data-heavy users avoiding subscriptions | Up to 15 days | Higher than several rivals | US availability has been affected by patent litigation |
| Amazfit Helio Ring | Budget buyers already using Zepp | About 4 days | Budget-priced | Short battery life and a weaker overall feature set |
Battery figures are manufacturers’ maximum claims unless stated otherwise. They are not directly comparable: real endurance changes with ring size, settings, workout recording, temperature, age and syncing. T3’s Oura Ring 5 review reported roughly seven days in testing, compared with Oura’s claim of up to nine.

- SIZING IS ESSENTIAL - Oura Ring 5 uses unique sizing different from standard jewelry rings and other Oura Ring generations; use the Oura Ring 5 Sizing Kit to find your perfect fit before purchasing
- EVERYDAY HEALTH SENSING - Oura tracks over 50 health metrics, including sleep, activity, stress, heart health, metabolic health and women’s health metrics. Oura seamlessly integrates with over 40 apps including Natural Cycles, Strava, & more
- OURA MEMBERSHIP - First month of membership is included with purchase, for new members only. Subscription is 5.99/mo afterwards. Membership is tied to your account via the Oura App, not your physical ring
- REBUILT FOR GREATER ACCURACY - Oura Ring 5 has been re-engineered and reconfigured, providing more precise personal health data. Larger, smarter sensors bring research-grade accuracy—all in Oura’s smallest form factor yet
Skip it if: you refuse subscriptions or do not fit its relatively narrow size range.
The Oura Ring 5 is the easiest recommendation because it does more than collect numbers. Its app presents sleep, readiness and activity information in a way that is generally easier to act on than a stream of isolated scores. That matters more than a long specification sheet when the ring is worn continuously.
It works with both iPhone and Android, weighs from about 2 g and is 2.28 mm thick. US pricing starts at $399 for Silver or Black finishes; premium finishes increase the price to $499. Oura claims up to nine days of battery life. These specifications and prices are listed in T3’s review.
The ownership cost is the important qualification. Advanced features require Oura Membership, priced at $5.99 per month or $69.99 per year in the US, according to Oura’s membership page. Over three years, the annual membership adds $209.97 to the cost, before tax. That makes the Oura substantially more expensive than its purchase price suggests.
Fit is another practical limitation. Oura Ring 5 sizes run from 6 to 13, whereas the older Ring 4 covered sizes 4 to 15, according to Tom’s Guide’s smart-ring guide. Do not assume that an existing Oura owner, or someone who fits another brand, will automatically fit the Ring 5.
2. Samsung Galaxy Ring: best for Samsung phone owners
Buy it for: a subscription-free ring that integrates naturally with a Samsung Galaxy phone and watch.
Skip it if: you use an iPhone or want the broadest phone compatibility.

The Galaxy Ring is the most sensible alternative for people already committed to Samsung’s ecosystem. It is available in sizes 5–15 and Titanium Black, Silver and Gold finishes. Samsung rates the ring for up to seven days, and its charging case can recharge the ring about 1.6 times from a full charge, according to Samsung’s product information.
Unlike Oura, Samsung does not make the core experience dependent on a monthly membership. That makes the Galaxy Ring better value over several years, particularly for a Galaxy owner who can combine its data with Samsung Health and a Galaxy Watch.
There are two big restrictions. It does not support iPhone, and some functionality is reserved for Galaxy phones. The ring’s internal sensor protrusions can also feel less comfortable than Oura’s design, especially if you are sensitive to pressure while sleeping. It is a strong ecosystem product, not the best universal smart ring.
3. RingConn Gen 3: best battery life without a subscription
Buy it for: long endurance and no recurring fee.
Skip it if: you want the most polished exercise features or the clearest coaching.
RingConn advertises 11–14 days of battery life for the Gen 3 and lists US pricing from $349 on its product page. That is the headline advantage: fewer charging interruptions and no Oura-style membership bill. It also offers vascular-health trends, but those trends should not be confused with individual blood-pressure readings or a medical diagnosis.
The compromise is refinement. Independent testing by Yahoo Tech describes the Gen 3 as evolutionary rather than a clear all-round replacement for Oura. Sleep tracking and endurance are attractive, but app polish and exercise tracking are weaker areas. If your priority is wearing a ring continuously with minimal charging, those weaknesses may be acceptable. If you want the best interpretation of your data, Oura remains ahead.
RingConn’s legal position also needs to be described accurately. Oura and RingConn announced a multi-year patent licence and settlement on October 21, 2025, allowing RingConn to continue offering its rings and app, as RingConn reported. It is wrong to repeat the older blanket claim that all Oura alternatives are banned in the US. Other brands’ availability can still change.

Launched in 2026, the Ultrahuman Ring PRO has redesigned hardware, a charging case and a claimed 15-day battery. Engadget’s review rated it 8.9/10, highlighting the hardware, case and data-heavy app. It is an appealing choice for users who want detailed trends without paying a monthly subscription.
It is not automatically a better Oura. Its higher price narrows the saving created by avoiding a membership, and the product’s US availability has been complicated by Oura-related patent litigation. Check delivery and regional support before ordering rather than assuming that a product available in one market is readily available everywhere.
5. Amazfit Helio Ring: a budget option with a major battery compromise
Buy it for: a low-cost entry into smart-ring tracking, particularly if you already use Amazfit and Zepp products.
Skip it if: you want to charge only once a week or expect category-leading sleep analysis.
The Helio Ring can make sense as a budget extension of the Amazfit ecosystem, but TechRadar’s current comparison guide reports only about four days of battery life. That is a significant disadvantage for a device whose main purpose is continuous and overnight tracking. Oura, Samsung and RingConn are stronger recommendations unless price is the deciding factor.

What I looked at when comparing the rings
- Sleep and recovery: Can the app explain trends and suggest useful actions, rather than simply display scores?
- Comfort: Is the ring thin and unobtrusive enough to wear overnight, and do the sensors create pressure?
- Compatibility: Does it work with iPhone and Android, or is it tied to one manufacturer?
- Ownership cost: Include subscriptions, not just the price printed on the product page.
- Battery: Separate manufacturer claims from measured review results.
- Exercise: Treat workout tracking as a secondary strength. Smart rings generally trail watches for live exercise data and GPS.
- Fit: Allow for finger swelling and shrinking through the day before confirming a size.
How to choose the right smart ring
Choose Oura Ring 5 if you use iPhone or switch between platforms
Oura is the safest recommendation for a mixed household or anyone who may change phones. Its cross-platform support and polished interpretation make it the least restrictive choice. Budget for the membership before buying.
Choose Galaxy Ring if you own a Samsung Galaxy phone
The Galaxy Ring is particularly compelling when paired with Samsung Health and other Galaxy devices. It avoids the recurring Oura charge, but buying it for an iPhone is not an option.
Choose RingConn Gen 3 if charging is your biggest annoyance
Its official 11–14-day endurance claim is the strongest among the mainstream options here, and there is no subscription. Just accept that its app and fitness tools are not as mature as Oura’s.

Choose Ultrahuman Ring PRO if you want maximum data without monthly payments
The PRO is aimed at enthusiasts who prefer detailed metrics and long battery life. Confirm regional availability and the total purchase price first.
Do not skip the sizing step
A smart ring that is slightly too loose can produce unreliable sensor contact; one that is too tight can become uncomfortable when fingers swell overnight. Samsung advises wearing its sizing sample for at least 24 hours, including overnight, before confirming the size through My Order, according to Samsung’s sizing instructions.
- Wear the sample ring during the day and overnight.
- Check comfort after exercise, in warm conditions and first thing in the morning.
- Make sure it stays in the same orientation instead of spinning freely.
- Only then confirm the order size.
Do not use advertised battery life as a substitute for fit testing. A larger ring, more frequent activity tracking or an older battery can all reduce the result.
What smart rings cannot do
Even the best smart ring is not a watch without a screen. These products generally lack built-in GPS, calls, message replies and a display for live workout statistics. Fitness tracking is also less capable than on a good sports watch. Their strongest use is passive monitoring: sleep, resting heart rate, recovery, temperature-related trends and long-term health patterns, as TechRadar’s comparison guide explains.

Health trends are not medical readings. RingConn’s vascular-health feature, for example, does not provide a single blood-pressure reading. If a ring reports an unusual result or you have symptoms, use appropriate medical equipment and speak to a clinician.
FAQ
What is the best smart ring in 2026?
The Oura Ring 5 is the best overall smart ring in 2026 because it combines comfortable hardware, strong sleep and recovery interpretation, and iPhone and Android support. Its main drawback is the $5.99 monthly or $69.99 yearly US membership for advanced features.
Is the Samsung Galaxy Ring better than Oura?
It is better value for Samsung Galaxy owners who want to avoid a subscription and use Samsung Health. Oura is the more versatile choice because it supports both iPhone and Android and generally offers more polished health interpretation. The Galaxy Ring does not support iPhone.
Which smart ring has the longest battery life?
RingConn Gen 3 has an official claimed battery life of 11–14 days. Ultrahuman Ring PRO claims up to 15 days. These are manufacturer figures, not guarantees; real battery life varies with ring size, settings, activity and battery age.
Recommended Free Tools
Are smart rings a replacement for a smartwatch?
No. Smart rings usually do not have screens, GPS, calls or message replies, and their exercise tracking is weaker than a smartwatch. They are better suited to discreet sleep, recovery and long-term health-trend tracking.
The Bottom Line
Verdict: Oura Ring 5 is the best smart ring overall. It offers the most complete and polished experience across phones, sleep tracking, recovery insights and comfort. The winner is not universal, though: buy the Samsung Galaxy Ring if you own a Galaxy phone and want no subscription, the RingConn Gen 3 for long claimed battery life at no recurring cost, or the Ultrahuman Ring PRO for data-heavy subscription-free tracking where it is available.
