The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon turns Chinese paper-cutting-inspired art into a layered watch dial, then carries the dragon’s colored scales onto its rubber strap. Created with artist Chen Fen Wan and limited to 88 pieces, reference 646.NX.6600.RX.CHF24 pairs that sculptural presentation with a 42 mm titanium case and Hublot’s HUB1710 self-winding movement. The details below are based on Hublot’s published description and specifications, not independent wear testing.
A dragon built from watch components
Hublot announced the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon on 8 January 2024 as an edition celebrating the Year of the Dragon. The design was developed with Chinese artist Chen Fen Wan, whose paper-cutting practice informs the watch’s layered, colorful motif.
Rather than depicting the dragon as a single flat illustration, the dial uses hands, wheels and H-shaped screws as parts of its three-dimensional silhouette. Hublot describes the concept this way: “Drawing inspiration from the traditional Chinese art of paper cutting, the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Dragon layers its hands, wheels and H-shaped screws to form a 3D silhouette of an eastern dragon.”
The result makes the movement-side components part of the visual composition. Layered appliqués build up the dial’s relief, while the color palette echoes Chen Fen Wan’s paper-cut sculpture. The dial is intentionally elaborate; readers prioritizing an immediately simple display may find the artistic construction more prominent than visual restraint.

The strap extends the artwork
The black rubber strap is more than a neutral support for the dial design: colored dragon scales continue the motif across it. Hublot says the scales are nano-vulcanized into the rubber and that the strap’s marquetry work is completed entirely by hand. The brand calls it its first rubber strap with a marquetry design.
The watch is supplied with a second, titanium-grey fabric strap secured with Velcro. Hublot’s specifications also list a black ceramic buckle for that strap and a titanium deployant buckle as the clasp. The package therefore offers a more understated fabric alternative to the decorated rubber strap, though the core artwork remains the defining feature.

These are Hublot’s published specifications for the model. The 100 m / 10 ATM rating is the stated water-resistance figure; it does not by itself establish suitability for every water activity or use condition.
