The Artem Loop-Less™ Sailcloth Strap changed in one important way: its longer end was shortened from 109 mm to 100 mm, while the other remained 97 mm. Fratello writer Ben Hodges reported that the original proportions pushed the clasp too far to one side of the wrist; the revision was intended to place it more centrally. What changed in the Loop-Less design?
In an article published January 29, 2024, Ben Hodges of Fratello described the first Loop-Less™ strap as having ends measuring 97 mm and 109 mm. He said the clasp extended too far to one side, which affected comfort and made the fit less adaptable across wrist sizes. Artem revised the proportions to 97 mm and 100 mm, shortening only the longer end. The intended result was a clasp that sat more centrally on the wrist. What is the strap made of?
Despite the name, the strap’s upper is not woven cloth used on sailing vessels. Hodges describes it as embossed synthetic material. How do you choose the right size?
Choose the strap width to match the watch’s lug width: the distance between the lugs where the strap attaches. Artem advises checking the watch’s specifications or measuring the gap. Its product page lists sizes from 18 mm through 22 mm. Artem

The strap narrows toward the clasp, so lug width and clasp-end width are different measurements. If using an OEM Omega clasp, Artem says its width must match the strap at that narrower end; check the product page’s clasp-end dimensions before ordering rather than relying on the lug-width number alone. How long does it take to break in?
Accounts of the strap’s break-in differ. Hodges reported that his strap took approximately one to two hours to mold to his wrist. Artem’s current product page says the structured strap softens after a few days of regular wear. Can the standard Loop-Less strap get wet?
