The standard date-equipped model is listed at $969 AUD on the maker’s Australian site, with a Miyota 9015 movement, sapphire crystal and 100 m water resistance. That is a distinctive package at its listed price, though fit, strap options and the current preorder schedule are worth checking before you buy.
What makes the Loimu distinctive?
Loimu is Galvin Watch Company’s second collection, designed by founder and watchmaker Susan Galvin. The maker presents it as a tribute to her northern Finnish heritage and the aurora borealis. Its patterned dial is described as guilloché-style; that describes the look and does not establish that it was made using traditional hand-turned engine turning. The maker’s collection shows the range of Loimu dial variants.
The dial is the reason to consider the watch: it gives a compact, sporty automatic a more expressive face than a conventional tool-watch layout. How does it fit, and what are the standard specifications?
The standard date-equipped Loimu listing gives a 38 mm case diameter, 45 mm lug-to-lug span and 19 mm lug width. The short lug-to-lug measurement can help the watch sit compactly, but the 19 mm width may narrow the choice of aftermarket straps compared with more common widths. Try to check the case dimensions against a watch that fits you well, and confirm strap width and end fit before ordering an alternative.

These are the maker’s published specifications for the standard date-equipped listing; check the specific reference because dial variants and special editions do not necessarily share every detail. What does the $969 AUD price include, and when is it due?
The official Polar page displays $969 AUD, tax included. At the time reflected on that page, the watch was marked preorder: Galvin said a case restock was expected in early November 2026 and estimated delivery in mid-to-late November 2026. The same listing says to allow 5–7 business days for assembly and quality-control testing, and that shipping is free; international buyers may owe local taxes or customs fees. These are the maker’s stated terms and estimates, not independently confirmed delivery outcomes. Check the listing for current stock, price and timing before placing an order.

How does the Coal special edition differ?
Do not assume the standard model’s configuration applies to every Loimu. The maker lists the Loimu Coal as a 30-piece special edition at $989 AUD, without a date window and with a Miyota 9039 movement. Its price and specifications are distinct from the standard date-equipped Polar. Check the Coal listing for its current availability and full details.

- Fit: Compare the 38 mm diameter and 45 mm lug-to-lug span with a watch you already find comfortable.
- Straps: The 19 mm lug width can make aftermarket selection less straightforward. Galvin says leather can be arranged by contacting the maker; confirm the width and compatibility of any replacement strap before buying.
- Bracelet details: Time+Tide reported that the reviewed bracelet used split-pin adjustment, had no half-links and offered two micro-adjust positions. Those are review-era observations, so confirm the bracelet and sizing details for the current version.
- Accuracy expectations: Time+Tide gives -10 to +30 seconds per day as general context for the Miyota 9000-series and reports that Galvin aims to regulate each Loimu within 10 seconds per day. The latter is a reported maker target, not a measured result for every watch.
- Warranty: A Malaysian retailer lists a 24-month warranty, but that does not establish the terms for purchases from Galvin or other sellers. Check the warranty that applies to your seller and country.
The Loimu’s value rests chiefly on its unusual dial, compact proportions and solid everyday specifications at the maker’s listed price. Whether it is the right buy depends on whether that dial suits you, the 19 mm strap width works for your plans, and the current price and delivery estimate meet your needs.
