The Omega CK976 is a vintage rectangular, tank-style watch seen in documented examples with Omega’s hand-wound T17 movement. Two reported watches have slightly different dimensions, so measurements should be tied to each example—not treated as a definitive specification for every CK976.
What is the Omega CK976?
The CK976 is a vintage Omega reference with a rectangular case and tank-style design. Fratello Watches describes a 1939 example, while a dealer listing describes a 1936 example. Both pair the reference with a T17 movement, but these two examples do not establish that every CK976 left the factory in the same configuration.
For its 1939 watch, Fratello reports a Staybrite 304 stainless-steel case, acrylic crystal and snap-on caseback. These are details of that particular watch, rather than confirmed universal specifications for the reference. Fratello Watches’ 2024 account of the CK976 gives the example’s description and specifications.
What does the T17 movement offer?
Fratello identifies the movement in its featured CK976 as a manually wound Omega T17, with 15 jewels, a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and a stated power reserve of 60 hours. Treat these as the specifications reported for that watch; the available documentation does not establish a complete technical specification for every T17 or CK976 variant.

“Glorious” is an apt expression of the watch’s appeal to vintage enthusiasts, but the practical point is that this is a hand-wound movement. Its present-day running accuracy, condition and service history must be assessed on the individual watch; the published specifications do not indicate how a particular example performs now.
How do the documented CK976 examples compare?
| Detail | 1939 example reported by Fratello | 1936 example in Omega Enthusiast listing |
|---|---|---|
| Movement | Manual-winding T17; 15 jewels; 18,000 vph; stated 60-hour power reserve | T17; 15 jewels, according to the seller |
| Case width | 20 mm | 20.2 mm |
| Lug-to-lug | 36 mm | 35.8 mm |
| Lug width | Not stated by Fratello | 16 mm, according to the seller |
| Other reported details | Staybrite 304 steel; acrylic crystal; snap-on back | Acrylic crystal, according to the seller |
The dealer listing is marked out of stock, and its statements about condition or originality are seller claims, not independent authentication. Its measurements and specifications describe that listing’s watch. Omega Enthusiast’s CK 976 listing is useful as an example, not as a definitive reference guide.

How to check a CK976 before buying
Omega says vintage serial and case information is usually engraved inside the caseback and on the movement. The company recommends using an authorised service centre for help retrieving information. Since inspection requires opening the watch, ask the seller for clear photographs or have a qualified specialist inspect it rather than opening it yourself.
- Request clear photographs of the movement and inside of the caseback, along with any visible serial and reference details.
- Compare the case and movement markings for consistency, and have a specialist assess uncertain examples. A listing’s reference or seller description alone does not authenticate a watch.
- Ask for service records and details of whether the watch runs, then distinguish documented service from a seller’s unverified description.
- Inspect the dial, hands and case for signs of replacement, damage or polishing; ask for a return or inspection option where available.
- Compare the actual dimensions and lug width of the watch you are considering. Measurements in another listing may not match your example.
Omega’s official customer guidance for vintage watches also says that pre-owned value can depend on functional and aesthetic condition, supply and demand, and country. It recommends assessment by an auction house or antique dealer.

What is a CK976 worth, and can it be serviced?
There is no reliable current CK976 price range established by the available evidence. Fratello’s Michael Stockton reported paying roughly €1,000 for his watch in 2024; that is one person’s dated purchase, not a current valuation or market average. The out-of-stock dealer listing likewise does not establish a sale price.
For service, Omega says its authorised service centres handle vintage-watch enquiries, but whether a particular watch can be serviced depends on its condition and whether appropriate components are present. The available guidance does not confirm T17-specific capability or cost for any named provider. Contact an authorised centre in your region or a qualified vintage-watch specialist with the watch’s details before arranging work.
