Who founded Watches.com?
Watches.com’s official story identifies brothers Mitch and Andrew Greenblatt as its founders. It says they have searched globally for unusual and established watch brands since 1999, building a business around timepieces selected for design and individual expression as well as their function.
The company’s stated starting point is 1999, a date also used in an SGX-hosted company timeline. A 2016 company announcement instead says the business was “Established in 1998.” The sources do not reconcile those dates, so the most precise description is that the company dates its watch-curation activity to 1999, while its 2016 announcement gives 1998 as its establishment date. How did Watchismo become Watches.com?
On June 21, 2016, Watchismo announced that it had acquired and merged into the Watches.com domain. The company described the transition as the launch of a current, broader multi-brand store—not the founding of the Greenblatts’ watch business. The SGX-hosted timeline likewise distinguishes Watchismo’s 1999 start from the launch of the multi-brand Watches.com store in 2016.

The change widened the storefront’s identity: Watchismo’s earlier watch-curation activity became an online destination carrying both recognized international brands and microbrands. The sources support that broad shift, but do not establish a year-by-year catalog or sales comparison. The 2016 announcement also associates the company’s design and manufacturing activity with its Xeric brand.
What does Watches.com sell today?
The current storefront presents physical wristwatches from multiple brands. Its displayed names include Xeric, Zodiac, and G-Shock, illustrating the mix of independent and established labels described in the company timeline. The official story continues to emphasize unusual, affordable timepieces and presents watches as objects of design and personal expression, not simply tools for telling time. A later corporate proposal should not be confused with the 2016 transition. Singapore-listed Ntegrator announced a proposed purchase of Watches.com assets for US$11,000,000, subject to approvals and other conditions. A subsequent filing records that the non-binding letter of intent expired on June 30, 2022. These filings establish a conditional proposal and its expiry, not a completed acquisition.
